This is a strange world we live in when someone like Willie Hutch passes away nothing said about it.He wrote many hit songs for some of the greatest artist of our time.
sho you right. People like Willie Hutch, O. V. Wright, King Floyd, Eddie Floyd, Tyrone Davis, Little Milton, Z.Z. Hill, they are hardly recognized. I thinks its a crying shame. I love these dudes and I listen to their music til this day.
It really makes me sad that I never got a chance to meet this dear brother. ... and THANK him from the bottom of my heart for all his wonderfulwonderful wonderful wonderfulmusic.
I have always tried to get these legends to leave some visual record for posterity of their wonderful work. The passing of the years has taught us that they are sadly not going to be around forever.
Do you have anything by BENNY LATIMORE? "Let's Straight'm Out" -- "You can't see the forrest, if you are looking at the trees......" Please, say YES, and post it.
Sorry. Please understand that all these videos are ones we shot and actually own. I post nothing up on YouTube unless I own all copyright in it, and I have never worked with Lattimore.
when the publishing date is shown, that is the date when the words to the song were first published, not necessarily when the song was recorded or the single released.silly sausage
I met a guy in the Post office today who said he played guitar for Willie. His name is Johnny Taylor. Said he started with Willie when he was 16. Does anybody know him?
That's funny,You must have been talking to his ghost becouse johnny taylor died in 2000.But wikipedia his name.there is a johnny taylor there who has no connection to willie hutch.but his face is there.see if its the same person.but the johnny taylor i know is dead.
their more than one johnny Taylor in the world The Johnny you are talk about was a singer Who's Making Love?"and No. 1 on the R&B chart in 1968.
During his tenure at Stax, he became an R&B star, such as "Jody's Got Your Girl and Gone", "Cheaper to Keep Her" after Stax folded in the mid 1970s, Taylor switched to Columbia Records, "Disco Lady", in 1976. "Disco Lady" was the first certified platinum single (two million copies sold) by the RIAA.
I will forever love you willie hutch. I owe my album to you. you know why.You live in my heart brother! god selfishly took you from us becouse this world didn't deserve you and he wanted you for himself! god bless Willie Hutchinson.
We can cut stuff now that sounds old and authentic. Please check out the new Northern Soul 2007 album and you'll see what I mean. Click on my name and when my page comes up, look at the trailer for it.
Willie Hutch was a vastly under rated talent, and along with Lamont Dozier remains one of my very favourite artists. It's such a shame he died without wider recognition for his great song writing and singing talents. "Love Runs Out" (US DUNHILL) is a genuine Northern SOUL classic with all the energy and incredibly uplifting spirit of that genre - very unlike some of the dull 60s pop-songs-with-a-beat that are passed off as such!
Say what you want about IL. Thanks for this, Ian.
