Ios 5 Trouble Shooting Tips and Tricks!

ok i download the ios5 file for my ipod touch 3g then i do what they say go to itunes hold shift then click restore problem is when i select the firmware file it says that the firmware file is incompatible with my ipod can someone please help me?

I'M having problems downloading the software on my computer. I have a Toshiba Satelite and its a pretty decent model. I have windows 7 operating system, and a regular wifi network. Whenever i try to download the software to my iphone 3gs i keep getting a stupid message saying try checking your network again. Nothing is wrong with my network. What should i do please help been trying to download this ever since it came out :(

@oP0rKy you have to make sure you have 10.5 itunes installed. If it doesnt work try reinstalling itunes 10.5 and try again. Also if you installed 10.5 yesterday right after ios5 came out, a lot of people were downloading then, so sometimes the download gets skrewed up. Hope that helped.

@semja001, u have to restore before updating if ur jailbroken. And it will update when u restore if u dont restore to a backup

hey thanks to anyone who helps me out here. I keep getting an error and says that the device isn't eligible for the requested build. Not sure why it not working. Im on 4.3.5, and using a mac. Is it cause the servers are busy? I already downloaded the software(ios 5 and have itunes 10.5).When it says extracting and it is finished it say it not eligible(ipod touch 4g 32gb, habe 24 gb free)
