Dude u know ur stuff about guns! U need to meet my grandpa. he has tons and tons of guns, half of em idk what the fuck they are, but yeah, u should meet him
357 will stop a bear my dad made a head shot on one at 20 yards with a 357 and it was dead befor it hit the ground your way better of with a 357 over a knife you couldent be more wright keep the vids coming
U should shoot a pig and see if it comes out the other side also u should try to shoot a coffie can filled with gas with a little fire in front of it : P
@rcjunky53654 i believe a 357mag can shoot 38spcl. but 38spcl cant shoot 357mag. basically the same bullet. but the 357mags shell is longer to hold more powder, thus making it a magnum
i think a gun is a good idea to carry in the woods and your m66 seems like a very good choice but carrying bear spray AS WELL as a gun is ideal. for one thing if you do manage to spray a bear he will be blurry eyed and that would only help you in using other methods of self defense against him.
Bears come in all different sizes and ferociousness. A .357 might handle a small/medium sized bear but a big one will maul you before you get off all your shots! There's so much to consider when you claim something will just die just because you got a gun. Regardless, I don't carry a gun for bears, When hiking, i use a Cold Steel Ghurka Kukri and do have the balls to use it should no other alternative present itself. Self-preservation is a powerful impulse. But your gun ROCKS and i want one.
@FabioCrow07770 I have the SK5 version of the Kukri. If attacked i would hope to lop off a limb or shear open a gash big enough to convince the bear to go away fast! That bear spray is a good idea. I hear that statistics show that it is the most reliable form of bear deterrent. I assume because it irritates and hurts them but it is not a lethal threat therefore they do not feel they need to attack you in the name of self defense. look at how effective a skunk is in self defensive capabilities.
@FabioCrow07770 your right man, the .357 magnum was the first magnum round (i believe) and through its debut the founding manufacturers smith&wesson and Winchester had hunters use the round to kill large game all over north america.... including GRIZZLY BEAR AND MOOSE!!!! Im from switzerland and im considering to buy a Taurus model 66 Blue 357 magnum or a Taurus Tracker 627 357 Magnum Stainless steel wich one of these would you get considering that in switzerland you pay about 550 swiss francs (wich is nearly 1:1 witch dollar so 1 doller= 1 swiss franc) and the Tracker costs about 680 swiss francs
@FabioCrow07770 i'm just saying, it struck me as odd that you're wearing a rather nice wristwatch on your right arm so that the little switch is facing toward you instead of away from you. all watch related comments aside, cool video.
@FabioCrow07770 I joke,I joke,I kid! It was a $400 well spent. If I didn't sell my soul to S&W I'd definitely choose one of the Taurus models.Only with a spiked hammer of course. Are you planning on taking out for few shots where you tested the .22? .38 cal is cheaper if you know what I'm saying...:)
@FabioCrow07770 I think they might be a little more than that even. At my store they had S&W and Ruger's offerings. That Taurus looks pretty sweet though.
well i own one of these model 66 revolvers and i must say that the gun is oky but the sights totally suck.....i was shooting factory ammo thru it and the blade on the rear sight broke. well all is good the gun has a life warrenty but the sights only have a 1 year warrenty..so after long talks with the taurus factory i think they suck. i did have a jewlery shop weld the blade back on so now the junk has fixed sights.so i will never own a taurus gun again......
nice gun, im glad you keep your gun clean, im the same way, if i pay a lot of money, im gonna take care of it no matter what it is lol, anyways really nice gun, i might just get that one
You shoot it in the head with a 180 grain buffalo bore round and or rounds... The end. But really I'd prefer using nothing smaller then a 44 magnum for bear though, not that a 357 in inadequate but for my personal reasons I'd like to make it a sure shot before the bear's paw are in reach of me. 44= averages 3 times the energy of a 357.

Ah,I spent the money to get the .44 Magnum Raging Bull.Obviously this gun is for show and puffing your chest out because you certainly would be VERY lucky to hit anything with this gun,BUT,it looked Badass,so what the hay,I bought it.Then I bought a Ruger Valquero 45.Awesome old style revolver.I can't wait to fire this puppy off.
Really like the Taurus 66 I plan on getting one and using it for hunting and target shooting.I will also be putting a pistol scope on it so I can shoot 100yd targets. The 357 mag will do enough damage to anything if you do you own reloading.Just as the 44SP will do like the 44Mag if you do your own reloading.
I should be clear that you CAN kill a bear with a .357 but it's not as easy as everyone seems to believe. Most people aren't aware of the exact location of a bears vitals and even if you are, you will be shakeing-scared-shitless and possibly unable to get a clear shot. Things happen fast and there are no second chances. Best to let sleeping dogs lie and opt for a more discretionary form of valor.
To be fair, if the bear is simply curious, you may be able to scare it off with a loud report to the sky but DO NOT shoot it! Bears have thick hides covering inches of dense corded muscle and are VERY territorial. If injured, fight or flight basic instincts take over and a bear isn't going to abandon it's territory to something half it's size that obviously means it harm. Please use your head when hiking in the wilderness.
Survival training for bear attacks teaches us to dive inside it's reach to slash the jugular when it rears up. (this is an intimidation posture in which the bear will let down it's guard slightly, all bears NEVER attack from this position.) yes it's extremely risky and should only be done as a last resort but try shooting it with a .357 and you will enrage it, causing it to attack immediately and I promise it will crumple you like a piece of parchment before you get a 3rd shot off.
Great gun, I have the older blued model without the lock on the hammer. But, It don't matter how old or how many rounds you fire through it . It has a lifetime warranty, for the life of the gun, not the owner.
a .357 magnum has the same ballistics as a 10 mm. I own this exact same gun, only it is blued, because I don't need to show off. I need performance, and 7 rounds of .357 magnum firepower, placed correctly is just as good as any other round, and I have shot an M-16 and M-60 machine gun. Shot placement is more important than firing capacity. Taurus makes very good revolvers. It's also a direct copy of a Smith & Wesson,
@SwissBullion You mean the Smith and Wesson has a different kind of grip. I like the stock grips on my Taurus Model 66 w/6" barrel. It makes it easier to get in and out of my shoulder holster, and in a self-defense situation the grips are fast. But even if you didn't like these grips you can get a set of Hogue Monogrip for less than $20, and make it a little more comfy for your shooting pleasure. Last time out I put 133 rounds of full house load .357 magnum rounds through my Taurus at the range
dude this guy is serious and thats why i laugh so much...not even at what he says...just how he says it and his big ol belly....hahah JUsSSSsssSSSttt SAYING :D huJUUUSSSSsssSssSt SayYING HOWEVER HAAHAAAAHHH---aAAAHhhHhHA----AHHH HA ANWAYYY UHHH AH-HA HAHA ....AH-HA
I'm really in to revolvers right now...the only problem is I can't make up my mind on a .357 or .44magnum i like the taurus raging bull models in the .44 because of how it looks like the gun from the resident evil games haha. I'm a fan of the wood grips though on these types of guns haha...
@pray4chicken If you're looking to use the gun for hunting game, I guess the .44 would be fine but, if you're in the city landscape, I think the .357 would be more feasible as far as ammo availability, in-door noise, and lack of overkill. Don't forget the Colt Python (.357 Mag) was the strongest handgun in the original Resident Evil.
man what a review sounded just like having CARMEN ELEKTRA giving a personal opinion about guns,,, what are you talking about??? maybe you can go look for bin laden with a 357 taurus,,, I love the caliber i love taurus revolvers i just hate your ugly gun,, sell your collection,, put some extra bucks and go for a raging bull..
what the dam hell!!! you idiot!!! a 44 mag is the desent caliber to star with for woods protection... is that the best gun you got??? you must have a jennings and a davis crap collection..... a 357 mag review from a very unexperienced dumb fuck,, hahahhaha your video made me laugh alot thanks for the entertainment,, i like your indiana jones hat better than that taurus

Grate review man , I am getting a ruger sp 101 soon but I'm thinking about a Taurus revolver instead of the ruger. Would you recommend a taurus???? thanks for posting the video man .
@jsdubon82 Well the only Ruger revolver I'd buy is the Black hawk .44 because I Like the old west style. But This Taurus Revolver is built to last and kick ass. I'd fully recommend it
Yes a .357 magnum will stop a black bear with no problems. Especially in the mid west where we don't have brow/grizzly bears, so a 357 is more than acceptable as a backup carry.
@dth580 Man, I just wanted an opinion on the piece. Why does everyone sound like It's last call at the bar here? You people own guns? Give the guy a break. Mind your mother... "If you can't say anything nice..."
What idiot would think that this revolver is overkill? Is .357 overkill for deer or crazy rednecks? You can live off rabbits, squirrels, and other critters with a mere 50 round box of .38special for weeks or perhaps months, and people have killed moose and grizzly with full-strength .357mag loads. Is such versatility and adequacy overkill? If you bring a gun with you in the woods, why should it be anything less than capable of doing anything you will need it too? Bring enough gun, or no gun.
can't wait. i'm getting the 4 inch barrel, blue. so sweet. thanks for the review, it sealed the deal.

chabochi1 9 months ago
@chabochi1 which Kukri do you have, the san-mi or the sk-5? both great machetes,I'm just curious which one.
I might buy some bear mace I hear that stuff works great, doesn't hurt the bear and gives you ample time to get away
FabioCrow07770 9 months ago
@FabioCrow07770 I have the SK5 version of the Kukri. If attacked i would hope to lop off a limb or shear open a gash big enough to convince the bear to go away fast! That bear spray is a good idea. I hear that statistics show that it is the most reliable form of bear deterrent. I assume because it irritates and hurts them but it is not a lethal threat therefore they do not feel they need to attack you in the name of self defense. look at how effective a skunk is in self defensive capabilities.

Great gun, I have the older blued model without the lock on the hammer. But, It don't matter how old or how many rounds you fire through it . It has a lifetime warranty, for the life of the gun, not the owner.
hammerdrop30 1 year ago
i want that gun. Im a glock owner myself but for some reason i cant put down my revolver either when i hit the desert.

a .357 magnum has the same ballistics as a 10 mm. It's also a direct copy of a Smith & Wesson,
99silverstone 1 year ago
@99silverstone The grip is much better on the Smith & Wesson.
SwissBullion 1 year ago
@SwissBullion You mean the Smith and Wesson has a different kind of grip. I like the stock grips on my Taurus Model 66 w/6" barrel. It makes it easier to get in and out of my shoulder holster, and in a self-defense situation the grips are fast. But even if you didn't like these grips you can get a set of Hogue Monogrip for less than $20, and make it a little more comfy for your shooting pleasure. Last time out I put 133 rounds of full house load .357 magnum rounds through my Taurus at the range
99silverstone 1 year ago
@99silverstone I think what I meant was that the Smith and Wesson has a more comfortable grip. The taurus felt like I was holding a broken rock.

@FabioCrow07770 i wanna see you shoot it through a half dozen coconuts!
Peidmonte89 1 year ago
Is the recoil terrible on those? I'm thinkin of gettin the model 65 or 66 haven't decided.
brentonwb 1 year ago
@brentonwb 357 recoil is light unless you never shot a gun before.
2113gizmo 1 year ago
Fabio, I bet you would love the Taurus Model 44! I could see you with that thing, its got your name written all over it!

I'm really in to revolvers right now...the only problem is I can't make up my mind on a .357 or .44magnum i like the taurus raging bull models in the .44 because of how it looks like the gun from the resident evil games haha. I'm a fan of the wood grips though on these types of guns haha...
pray4chicken 1 year ago
@pray4chicken 357 anyday,44 if you run into bears alot lol
MrDeerecub1977 1 year ago
@MrDeerecub1977 i finally got to shoot a 357 yesterday it was a S&w 686 plus 7rd
man i shot way better with that than i did with my kimber haha. i've made up my mind i'm getting both haha
pray4chicken 1 year ago
@pray4chicken If you're looking to use the gun for hunting game, I guess the .44 would be fine but, if you're in the city landscape, I think the .357 would be more feasible as far as ammo availability, in-door noise, and lack of overkill. Don't forget the Colt Python (.357 Mag) was the strongest handgun in the original Resident Evil.

man what a review sounded just like having CARMEN ELEKTRA giving a personal opinion about guns,,, what are you talking about??? maybe you can go look for bin laden with a 357 taurus,,, I love the caliber i love taurus revolvers i just hate your ugly gun,, sell your collection,, put some extra bucks and go for a raging bull..
francisco61261 1 year ago
what the dam hell!!! you idiot!!! a 44 mag is the desent caliber to star with for woods protection... is that the best gun you got??? you must have a jennings and a davis crap collection..... a 357 mag review from a very unexperienced dumb fuck,, hahahhaha your video made me laugh alot thanks for the entertainment,, i like your indiana jones hat better than that taurus

Grate review man , I am getting a ruger sp 101 soon but I'm thinking about a Taurus revolver instead of the ruger. Would you recommend a taurus???? thanks for posting the video man .
jsdubon82 1 year ago
@jsdubon82 Well the only Ruger revolver I'd buy is the Black hawk .44 because I Like the old west style. But This Taurus Revolver is built to last and kick ass. I'd fully recommend it

@FabioCrow07770 great carry gun?holy shit i wouldnt wanna fuck with anybody who uses a 357 magnum for carry lol!
reynosamanA3 1 year ago
nice howd u get that
Mister3killer 1 year ago
Yes a .357 magnum will stop a black bear with no problems. Especially in the mid west where we don't have brow/grizzly bears, so a 357 is more than acceptable as a backup carry.
Jaybird616 1 year ago
@dth580 Man, I just wanted an opinion on the piece. Why does everyone sound like It's last call at the bar here? You people own guns? Give the guy a break. Mind your mother... "If you can't say anything nice..."
douglasj56 1 year ago
@douglasj56 lol what?
dth580 1 year ago
What idiot would think that this revolver is overkill? Is .357 overkill for deer or crazy rednecks? You can live off rabbits, squirrels, and other critters with a mere 50 round box of .38special for weeks or perhaps months, and people have killed moose and grizzly with full-strength .357mag loads. Is such versatility and adequacy overkill? If you bring a gun with you in the woods, why should it be anything less than capable of doing anything you will need it too? Bring enough gun, or no gun.

@nebula25x id say because its a clear rip off of a beautiful classic
