  • Dis I like !

  • Which pedal do David Gilmour use to play this song?

  • good job man

  • No distortion ?

  • The moment the video starts, I'm like "OMFG WRONG KEY" >.<

  • VERY GOOD!!

  • cool video. Another brick in the wall is always a good song. Can't get enough.

  • Great job!!!))

    check out my version plz

    watch?v=Bg_SYFZEnyc

    Cheers))

  • Very well fandango.

  • Sweet sound and fret accuracy bro! Thumbs up

  • great great great beautiful sound

  • at 1:26 you have mistake,i hope its accident...

  • @aleksandarfriscic dude shut up

  • Sorry "Probtron", I deleted your question -I didn't mean to- about my tuning knobs.

  • i have the exact guitar as you

  • Good cover.....Love the tone on your guitar.

  • the tone come from fingers

  • yes!! YOU HAVE THE CORRECT TUNE MAN!

  • \m/ you rock!

  • Joyster2212, most of us guitarists in here uses 9's strings. 9-strings are pretty much the standard for all type of styles of soloing. Hope this helps ya.

  • thanks (: imo its just.. .10s gives a very good tone, and it's actuallty the standard gauge.. but I'll try the .9s after the next gig, I wanna be sure about the quality.. :) thanks anyway!

  • i thought 9's were standard gauge and 10's for more beefy sound and drop D

  • Most new guitars comes with 10s.

  • Doesn't matter.

  • THANKS, THANKS, THANKS!!!!

To all the people that are giving me such positive feedback on my covers and my own compositions.

But ... mates.... I need your help!!!!

Please, vote for me in guitar Idol 2009. I have had very few votes so far and if I had more votes I could reach the final.

    Josep Suller

  • AAAAAAMMMMMMMMMAaaazzzzzzzzzzzziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

  • I like this cover !! wow

  • Por favor, necesito vuestra ayuda! Soy uno de los semifinalistas en el concurso internacional de guitarristas guitar-idol 2009 (guitaridol-punto-tv) con mi canción (when you lose a friend). Para alcanzar la final, necesito votos. Para votar, os tenéis que registrar (sólo será 1 minuto). Muchas gracias. Josep Suller.

  • Please, please, please

I need your help. Im one of the semi-finalists in the international guitar contest guitar-idol 2009 (guitaridol-dot-tv) with my song (when you lose a friend). To reach the final I need votes. To vote, you need to register, but it will only take you 1 minute! Thank you very much. Josep Suller

  • Hey JS youre amazingly good on all your vids! Im a guitarist myself, I got a strat and a problem. I find the bendings very hard. It might be my tremolo there is too lose, but it could be the gauge strings I use. What gauge do you use? .9s? .10s?

    Please response!!!!

    Mhp

  • hi, thanks for your positive feedback!

I'm using 0.9-0.42 half a step down. I also used 0.8-0.38 for a few years and I liked it, though the bass notes weren't as good.

I hope this is useful, mate!

    Thanks again. Josep Suller

  • hey, thanks for responsing! Its very useful, the reason why I hesitated about trying the .9s is that my teacher and my friends keeps telling me that I shoulnt use something thinner than 0.10. Now ive heard something else from a great guitarist, so now Im gonna try some 0.9s :D Thanks again mate!

    Mhp

  • hey this cover is great, it has a lot of personality....watch mine in a couple of days!

  • okay.. now that I have heard your other covers, this is probably your worst, because this is one of the best songs you are covering.

When mixing it, turn down the volume on the guitar. It's too much in focus. Try listening to the original. At some places, you can barely hear it. But for this solo, that sounds really good. The tone is clean for this solo, so it can be at low volume without suffering.

Do a repost and yes, get even better vibrato, I know you can after seeing your other videos.!

  • you have bad ass vibrato. its so smooth.

i did a version of this last night. im doing it with more effects and not as clean because i wanted to do it more with the cool flanger settings david gilmour has on the wall tour.

id be happy to see your feedback.. from the master of vibrato :P hehe

    cheers ;)

  • hi, Thanks for your "positive criticism", man. I recorded several covers on the same day and I didn't spend the time I should have spent to get the exact feeling and vibrato D-Gilmour does in his original song. I'll try to do it better some other day.

I'm more proud of other covers I've posted. Please, look at other videos such as Gary Moore, Beat it, or a composition of mine called "when you lose a friend" and you'll be able to see if my "bad ass vibrato" is as bad as you think.

    J. Suller

  • i see a reason to clarify. the expression "bad ass" means that it is really good!! a "badass" is someone who is cool or really tough.

so what i said was "REALLY GOOD VIBRATO"

but one can always do better, and if that is the case with you, WOW!

    good job!

  • It would be nice if i can see u playing "Confortably Numb" by Pink Floyd next time !!!

    But the solo ;-0

  • great! and very clean ;) nice!

  • It's not the "Wall" solo. It is "Another Brick in a Wall part 2" solo.

  • But it's a solo, and it's on The Wall, so... Ha ha

  • But there are many different solos on the Wall album! :)

  • Please, I NEED YOUR HELP to take part in the guitaridol 2009 final. Watch my entry in guitaridol 2009 and vote for me. Thanks.

    entry: when_you_lose_friend (josep suller)

  • I was disturbed by this video, I don't think I have ever seen anybody mess about with the volume control on a guitar so much whilst trying to play on camera. Must be a kind of nervous tick complaint. The overall sound you were getting needs to be analyzed by you. I'm not gonna make any comments about that, or the accuracy of the music, everybody plays a different grade. Keep up the good work.

  • Show us yours then??

  • totally! Very well put. He doesn't get the right double bends with the pitch and picks twice rather than using the bend to move to the whole tone note. Many guitar players have no idea about tone and phrasing. Jeff Beck would be someone to watch and learn as far as the things I've mentioned are concerned.

  • Couldn't agree more with you. Although he touched the volume knob every 2 seconds, I didn't hear any effect of it.

  • For those that feel "disturbed" about the volume messing...When I recorded this video, the volume control of my guitar had problems and sometimes the sound of the guitar wasn't good enough. I had to check all the time that the volume was at full volume. Fortunately, I had my guitar repaired a couple of weeks later and I don't need to do this anymore. Check my other videos and you'll see that this is not a "nervous tick". Anyway, I respect all opinions. Thanks for posting, dudes. Josep Suller.

  • :D :D excellent! gonna watch your Chanel

  • !!!

  • I've seen your "when you lose a friend" composition. Holy shit! It's a WONDERFUL SONG! Go on making up your own songs and release a CD soon, Josep!

  • josep that was sweet. one of my favourite guitar solos.

aliersu you're a fag. i'd like to punch you in the face

  • If you're 13 and can play the song, post your own video. Asshole. =)

Nice playing by the Josep, you're amazing!

  • Thats the way;)

  • dude u got a owesome filing to it n i like the tone of ur guitar is ok

  • i honestly dont know why you got so many good comments to that, it was ok, fairly mediocre to be true.. just being honest, i think everyone else was just being nice.. like the record, WRONG! DO IT AGAIN! WRONG! DO IT AGAIN...LOL..

  • Sorry, but I don't agree with you. I think this cover is really good. He's got an "incredible vibrato"; one of the best vibratos I've seen on Youtube. And the cover is really approximate.

By the way, have a look at other covers by this guy: for example, Gary Moore, Mark Knopfler, Van Halen's beat it.., he's really good!!!!

  • yeah i know, i posted a comment about another video he had and hes brilliant at other stuff, just dont think hes very good at doing gilmour stuff.. and as for your comment about my another brick in the wall solo.. keep practicing.. i practice everyday and please if you will find me someone else on youtube whos done the live solo from pulse, i think youll find that i am darn good, not just ok.. i pride myself on my gilmour covers

  • Impresionante. Perfect!

  • AMAZING

  • Shit, dude. That's AWESOME

  • very good chap, very good. Incidently, a compression sustain pedal would make you keep those high pich bends audible for longer so you dont have to restrike! very good tho

  • yeah. I agree with you about the compression pedal (or even better a live 30000W sound situation), but I wanted to use "just" my Crate VC30 -no added effects whatsoever-, I've recorded several covers and different styles with this great amp.

  • that's one of the best cover of the wall solo

  • holy crap dude. that was .. insane

  • nice color

  • awesome, mate!

    also love your strat

wanna get me a red one soon^^

  • you rock man

    very good

    im trying to get this

    bye

  • Very very good playing! Not that many who can do it that good.

  • nice one :) ...

  • phenomenal...im tryin to learn the mother solo nd i just cant find any good tabs..ive been piecin together what i can find that sounds right but yea w.e......i admire this

  • Eres un machine! Se oye tambien a una niña de fondo , es tu hija no?

  • great!
