Now I don't hate Twilight, but I can't say I'm crazy about it (but let's not turn that into a debate unrelated to this movie), and I was not exactly wanting to see a flash of Twilight in a Phantom movie. Of course, and its true with all versions(Raoul\Phillipe). Phillipe could have any woman he wanted, he's handsome and rich. Erik's only chance of happiness and love is Christine, and he ''steals'' her from him. Why does he have to interfere always?Just ONCE I'd like to see Erik win his beloved and for him to be happy !(what is it about this story that really gets us going???)I love Charles Dance in this.

I agree with you completely! Apart from this, I always think that Charles Dance has the most lovely eyes and expression in them, and his voice catches my heart (when he slips out of the slight american accent which is a bit annoying). We all want Erik to be happy. If Christine doesnt want him at least I can dream that I would.

He does have great expression, we are able to see and feel what he is feeling even though his face is covered up by a mask. I absolutely love the lullaby he sings to Christine, but I wish it had words! lol but lovely just the same. Every phan girl loves that dream :) Lets hope there is an Erik for every deserving phan out there

I wonder, even if the Phantom had not crashed the chandelier on her, if there would have been an investigation about Carlotta poisoning her. I think if Erik wanted to justly get revenge, he could have exposed Carlotta for her treachery. Then she and her husband would have been publically humilated and that way Erik is guiltless of any crime and justice is served on the right people.
