Even though film technology has gotten better, the 70s and 80s had such good story lines and they still kept us entertained. It's a shame we can't capture the excitement of the 70s and 80s… even when we have better technology. You can say what you want, but the 70s and 80s rocked. We had great television back then, and it was exciting to watch. These days, all they show is junk. It's a total waste of technological advancement.
Good Actor's , solid show. Just a shame we didn't have the ability nor budget to do a Spider-man back then . Would'a been one hellava series that could'a lasted 10 yrs if we did. I do love that Funky retro 70's style Spider-man a whole lot more than the recent Sam Rami one. And Nic Hammond trumphs Maquire any day of the week.
If you love spiderman you're gonna love this: I was visiting a friend of mine and coincidentally my friend's nephew,a five year old boy, was there too wearing a spiderman watch and spiderman trainers so we began to talk about good ol' spidey...the green goblin this, sandman that, venom this,etc,etc...then I say ''they say PETER PARKER is SPIDERMAN'' he thinks and makes a pause...and defending his hero he says ''PETER PARKER takes photographs...SPIDERMAN DOESN'T TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS''
aah..Dallas and Falcon Crest...that sounds more like it. But I didn't watch either shows - saw a few episodes, but thought those series had way too many dramas going on. Dynasty was about all the drama that I could handle. Plus it was nice to see Linda Evans back in the spotlight after The Big Valley. And the feud between her and Joan Collins were great.
I have it in front of me here. You evidently not only do not know how to use a computer but you have a fowl attitude to match.I don't have the time to waste it on arrogant "past it" women. Reply al you like,I won't lower myself to even look at your message.
Wow - I knew it! I had a feeling when watching this show as a little girl that Spidey looked familiar - he also starred in The Sound of Music....so cool! And I did not know that he was the one that stood Marcia Brady up on the Brady Bunch show....hmmmmm, wonder what he (Nicholas Hammond is doing now??) I, actually enjoyed this series way better than the movie with Tobey McGuire....sorry.
AngelTee2007 Dont apologise for liking the origional better,lol...I'm trying to find the origional sereis and movie for my kids and I can't find it for love nor money...I've tried everywhere. It does take you back a bit though,I think I was about 6 when I saw it 1st tme round,;-)
Thanks ggggaaarrryyyy...I really did like watching that series better...(maybe it was because of Nicholas Hammond??)...anyways, I was sad when the series ended. I was only about 8 or 9 years old meself! :)
My sister had a MAJOR crush on the said Mr.Hammond, she even sat through Dynasty (even though she hated the programme)when he was in that.....she would have been about 8 or 9 herself...what is it with you young girls.haha..... I'm unfamiliar with how to accept the invite you sent for the odd chat.Take care, and carry on enjoying the nostalgia;-)
For love or money? Wow, you must not know how to use a computer. Never thought of trying the one that posted this video? DUH! Idiocy is spreading around the world like wildfire.
the costume is ok. other than that, it is like they weren't even trying. the writing. the stunts. the action choreography. I do like the music though.
Ryan I slightly disagree only because I am a bit older and remember what the typical series from that era were like. I don't look at the show as being a particularly good one, but many shows from this time were pretty cheesy and shot using the same methods and writers. No CGI, just real people required to do the same stunts week after week and the budgets were miniscule compared to today. I wish Spidey would have talked in costume though. The character really misses something when in costume
yes. they did not have the budget to dub in clever spider-lines. I like those Captain America TV movies better. i enjoyed watching re-runs of this in the 80s, but i was hella slow back then.
This is the episode "Photo Finish In a Flash", right? I was just starting to walk and talk when the show was on and have snippets of memories of it in my brain. Of course, it was rerun like crazy after it was cancelled. I'm surprised this hasn't become available on dvd yet.
Couldn't agree more about Maguire. His voice is grating and he acts like he has mental disabilities. Dunst is also annoying and her half-lidded expressions make her look either really bored or sleepy.
Great scene with Spidey busting out of that cell. Man, that police detective sounds like he is talking on helium or something! This show remains the best live-action adaptation of Spider-Man. 'Nuff said!
Brilliant. This is still my all time fav TV show. It was the only show (as a kid) I was allowed stay up late for or I threw a fit :)
Hopefully they release these on dvd. Tobey Mc Guire is a decent Spidey but Jesus he can be annoying. Hammond was spot on as the webslinger, and Julie (Ellen Bry) is far more sexy then Kirsten Dunst.
Was the guy at :23 inhaling helium?

Man , if only we had the effects to do Spider-man back in the day. Wow. This show would have been on the air for a Decade , most likley.
