@Dridokof Yes it's somewhat a sluggish review. But back in the time I've done this review, it was "unscripted commentary" in which obviously it's not perfect. My later reviews after this one are scripted.

@kit763 Speed model, Flying bird kick (B), upper kick (B), elec. star (A)!!!

KICKASS combo, if it connects.... Oh if he would happen to be knocked down, use elec. star just as he gets up. That way you'll do damage and he won't be able to grab you. yust make sure you don't jump straight up, cause he'll just use drill head.

@geno344 I hear ya bro. Though, Sunsoft published the game, but it was developed by Japan System Supply. Yes, Sunsoft did create a new Blaster Master game for WiiWare, but yes, I agree. Power Quest should get a well-deserved sequel.

Lol i think its great that you compared it to pokemon because i remember back in grade school a friend got this for his birthday but didnt like fighting games and traded it to me for a few dozen pokemon cards. Lol. Man those were the days. Pokemon was cool but it wasnt a game you could turn on for a second and play. You really had to dedicated your time to it.

Agreed. And the thing I hated about Pokemon was the fact that back in the day when this game was out along with Pokemon, a lot of people I knew back then were pokemon fanboys and they were pretty annoying at one point.

You should also play this via the Gameboy Player that is an add-on to the Gamecube.

mm Pokemon actually had a huge world to explore, quests to complete, story driven, 150 monsters to collect and fight with, all with their own unique moves.

Power Quest was an incredible disappointment to me when I found out there was only one town to walk around in. No people to talk with basically, only just a few houses to walk inside and the battles became incredibly repetetive IMO, with just 5-6 robots and a few special moves.

Yes and no.  Though, compare Power Quest to Pokemon despite the different worlds to visit, Power Quest has loads of replay value and it's a hell of a lot of fun to play.

Pokemon is ok for what it is, though, back when Pokemon first came around, it was rated too favorably compare to many other games in the entire gameboy library and Power Quest should've got some of the attention it deserved despite its repetitive gameplay at times.

The story mode is a pile of grind and fail, but the real meat of the game, the fighting, is tons of fun on a bun. Go through the one-player mode, and the enemy AI gets harder and harder as you progress. It's a lot of fun, freaking get it now.

I normally just pick it up to pass the time when I'm bored, and I always get my ass handed to me by either level two Max or Gong, at which point whatever I was waiting on is here so I stop. I remember in Elementary School I could go for endless stretches at a time. I seem to have gotten worse with age, lol ^_^'

Poke'mon was overrated? Lies, and Deception i say! I will say though that powerquest looks pretty cool, It isn't laggy like most GBC Fighter games.
