Years ago, at the annual CAAS convention in Nashville, my Dad and I got to hang out with Stephen Bennett on several occasions. He played many songs for us, and told us stories about them, what inspired him to write them, explained the tunings, etc. I have been around a lot of great musicians, but he is truly a genius. Not only that, he is absolutely one of the most pleasant people I have ever been around in my life. Super nice guy, really good energy. And, did I mention he's a musical genius?
What a wonderful human being. His existence fills our ears with the most wonderful sounds. Thank you for everything you do Stephen. You can always make my day just that much bettter
Wow, I'm still so surprised how much beauty he can pull out of standard tuning. It's not very often that fingerstyle guitarists use standard, but it seems like he uses it quite a bit; and successfully at that!
This guy is so God gifted. I would give my eyes and teeth to be able to play like that .I swear I could listen and watch this forever.Excellent Mr Stephen Bennett!!
I am believing that some of these songs could literally be turned into movies or plays. Not for commercial success but to further illustrate their potential. But then the imagination might be limited...
Holy crap. I've heard that song through Pandora before and just assumed it was a seperate bass guitar. Will be looking into Stephen in more depth soon!
It actually reminds me of Oregon. When a song can do that to you, you know its great! I am so glad I found out about Stephen. He seems like such a chill guy
stephen bennett should be way more popular on youtube then he is.... he is way up there for acoustic guitar players... i would put him in the same catagory as hedges, Tommy, and Don Ross for sure.
It's always a good day when Einstein decides to play his harp guitar.

I can't believe he plays without a thumb pick. He must have an iron thumb.

@DudeWheresMyDeLorean If you look at his thumb he has a decent sized nail

This melody is made beautiful by Bennet's artistic insterpretation and skill. I would like to know the maker of his interesting instrument.
