Noted something quite interesting, how come GLaDOS has authority over the entire facility but still could not shut down the whole core switch procedure? Seems like this was pre-planned by the aperture fellows in case the A.I would become too corrupt in the future, thereof the announcer that kicks in and pops out that receptacle and all. She seems to be defenseless here by all means. Even the button becomes available for the stalemate, well at least she tries to hinder us with those panels :)
