  • A REAL patriot. One of the few principled legislators left in America. If only they were all like him. My admiration and respect for this man is beyond words...

  • WOW!!! No that's something you don't see every day .. a switched on moral American ...I'm sure some nutbag or govt dept will probably assassinate him in time ... pity though, its refreshing to see such a human viewpoint coming out of the evil empire.

  • I fucking love this guy. It's so sad we don't have more people like him in DC.

  • Sanders seems to be the only politician who is honest and independant, without a personal hidden agenda

  • Bernie is the MAN!!

  • Have you EVER seen a US Senator who is THAT popular???

  • The battle is already lost.

  • I really wish Bernie Sanders would run for president. But I know he won't... just happy that we have at least one sane politician in the Senate we can rely on to tell it like it is.

  • @captfoster1 Do you know why he won't run? I wish he'd run too.

  • @Lightmane321 He has said on the Thom Hartmann radio show that he feels he can make more impact as a Senator for his state than being president.

Personally, I think his biggest fear is the corporate media would spread every oldly moldy lie about Bernie's political ideology, which is Democratic Socialist.

Lets face it, way too many of our fellow citizens have been brainwashed into believing that any kind of Socialism is the same as Communism or worse. In that sense, Bernie has a point.

  • @captfoster1 That's what I figured, but if he ran, he could debunk all these stupid myths about Socialism & show all of America the truth about what the Republicans have done to this nation, starting with Reagan, but it's funny - I show these FACTS to my conservative friends & they all swear I'm wrong & that I don't know what I'm talking about - lol

Republican lies & propaganda run deep

So while I totally see his point, I still wish he'd run. Maybe Obama will tick him off & change his mind

  • My conservative friend said this:

Your wrong, corporations pay taxes. they just shift profits to places like ireland and switerland where they pay those taxes in those countries, and show no profit in the US"

this is regarding the 35% corporate income tax. I said how many big corporations pay zero in taxes.

    Is he right or wrong?

  • @Lightmane321 Unfortuntely... there are way too many corporations that ultimately pay no taxes, even after posting billions in profit because of all the tax loopholes put in the tax codes by the very same corporations that sent their lobbyists and lawyers in DC to buy these changes in the first place.

It is true that America has the highest starting corporate tax rate on Earth, but like I said, with all the loopholes, they pay zero, in many cases, these monsters get millions in refunds.

  • @captfoster1 Thanks, but read what I wrote again. My conservative friend swears we're wrong & that the reason they don't pay any corporate income tax is precisely because of the 35% tax rate, which they avoid by shifting their profits to other countries, to avoid paying 35%. I say he's wrong.

Now I'd like some proof, so I can take it back to him.

But I agree with you, regardless : )

  • @Lightmane321 I have no doubt that many of these multi-nationals shift profits to avoid paying taxes and what is left they use every made up, bullshit loopholes (many of which are created for a specific corp.). Rest assured that the idea of tax laws being writen transends Dem/Rep and even lib/con, as even countries with multiple parties have the same issue, though not as bad. At this time, I have no better answer to give, but once I do, I'll post it here for you.

  • @Lightmane321 Of course the right-wing is very good at blaming libs & Dems for all that goes wrong with anything in America. The truth is that money, power, & ideology seem to be the main factors why otherwise good people do bad things to gov't. I suspect that the average Tea Party Rep runs for office to gain power, to change laws in a particular field, and then leave gov't to go work in the field they just changed for a big payout. Read "The Wrecking Crew" by Thomas Frank for more insight.

  • This video isn't working can you repost I really want to watch it Thanks
