@Theaqwcommentary Isolate the parts you have trouble with, Extra Practice on the hard parts (that part you have trouble switching to "G")...do it at least 10 to 20 times/ a day for a couple of weeks...it will get easier...use a metronome if you have one and start slow...Good Luck. Thanks for watching.
This is so beautiful. I fell in love with this song when I was little and heard Didi sing it to Dill on the rugrats ( I'm not really that old.. just 18 ) But I never heard a whole lot of lullaby's when I was younger but this one always stayed in my head. Thank you for posting your video! I hope I can learn to play like you someday!
Beautiful Dreamer brings back many wonderful memories someone I knew. He shall turn 75 on15/1/ 2011 & I wish him a very happy 75th. Due to life's uncertainties, & my judgemental errors, I lost him as a dear friend and someone i hold close to my heart.. He no longer wants to hear from me, or communicate with me. I hope if he ever listens to this song somewhere, somehow sometime, - he will know that I am thinking of him, every waking moment until the sun turns cold and the stars grow old.
Bloody good mate I would love to play as good as you, fantastic control beautiful finger work thank you very much for a professional rendition of a lovely old tune. Regards Geoff
I just found the tab for this arrangement with someone else's name on it: Hashim Al Daghistani. Can you confirm that Jason Waldron arranged this? I redid the tab and I'd like to give credit to the right person. It's a nice arrangement and you did it justice.
"Oldwhtman" is meant "older" not "old" right--ha ha. This is from Jason Waldron's book "Fnger picking the Classics" Volume 1. I believe it is his (Jason) transcription as all songs in the book seem to have his similar transcription style. I know what you mean on giving proper credit. Back in Stephen Foster's day, everyone was ripping off Mr. Foster's music--he died young, with only 37 cents in his pocket!
Very well played, but you should play softer with those nylon strings. It would bring a better tone and would allow you to emphasise or more fully express different points in the song.
I know what you mean (the softer tone)--I sound like a steel string guitar. But I admit, sometimes I like to play it loud and "rough" ... I'm getting "into" the song--like this one--For "Stephen F".
I wanted to post "My Old Kentucky Home" (Stephen Foster) on the day of the Kentucky Derby (the "Derby's" theme song), but I couldn't find my song book--but I've found it since. Look for it soon--it's really pretty.
Thank you Julie. It is "beautiful" (like a youtube "classicalguitarist" I know, ha ha) Rather catchy tune also. It's a strange song, A Happy song and sad song at the same time. Later...
I played this song and i had trouble swiching to "g" any helpful tips?
