Whilst I deplore the Japanese Whaling fleet, Ady Gil was as much at fault for the collision as the Japanese was. It was a stupid manoeuvrings of the skipper that ultimately destroyed the vessel. It was clearly in gear and going forward. Ady Gil being the more nimble could have avoided this, but unfortunately, stupidity prevailed.
Why did they just waist the boat. You want to save the whales at any cost, even sacrificing your own life then shot those bastard's boat. Whilst I deplore the Japanese Whaling fleet, Ady Gil was as much at fault for the collision as the Japanese was. It was a stupid manoeuvrings of the skipper that ultimately destroyed the vessel. It was clearly in gear and going forward. Ady Gil being the more nimble could have avoided this, but unfortunately, stupidity prevailed.

Why did they just waist the boat. You want to save the whales at any cost, even sacrificing your own life then shot those bastard's boat. Big plus of that is you will make huge damage to the whale hunting cuz those boats cost tens of millions and you will go to jail (or not if they sink fast enough :) but your boat will be safely given to the next one like you who can continue your great work :)

multiple things are illegal here... First, it appears to be a wicked laser, maybe something different but on EVERY type of laser it says DO NOT POINT AT LIVING OBJECT, the people on the black boat turned it on and directed it toward the boat purposely. BUT, the bigger boat does not get the right to ram into the smaller boat, although the black boat was preventing the way of travel of the bigger boat so that would make it legal for them to create a pathway. Japan are given a quota from the IWC for research and under IWC regulations Japan is allowed to catch whales even in the nature preserve/sanctuary. The SS are saying "this is not research but commercial whaling" so their attack on Japanese fleet is an attack on the IWC regulations. . ie. Japan is acting under internationally agreed regulation while the SS is acting illegally.

well as an ex navy man, i can see the ramming was an accident. the ady gil, helped contribute to incident by powering up ahead, and not astern to get out of the way. my suggestion would be to stop all this crazy at sea protesting, before somebody gets killed or an international incident occurs......
