@dixiemudtoy Haha, ya that would be quite the road trip... Im in Portugal right now but Im moving back to Kamloops BC in a couple weeks. Im hoping to land an 87' 4x4 reg cab. If I do I'll post a vid of it for sure. Cheers.
@jeaczea yeah, its a little on the heavy side...but just watch what i do with my truck in the videos i upload...it's worth it for the protection, since i refuse to cut body panels
I have one similar on my Toyota, I can't wait for some plastic bodied car to bump into me and tear their car up, while I just bust out the Krylon and repair my damage!!
@dixiemudtoy yeah I live in Norcross, when we take our cars to those places that you know, I also have a 91 toyota pickup 4x4 I would like to try it in the mud
You really thought of everything in the design! Awesome, I hope to do this in the next few years to my 92... Just wondering.... how did the front bumper's weight affect driving performance?
@RallyHHRT Thanks man, and it didnt...I had a Smittybilt tube front bumper before it was made, weight difference may have been 20 lbs heavier with the better Sixditch bumper. Couldn't tell you over the stock bumper...haven't had one in 8 years : )
@crombieposterboy lol i've always wanted one of those roll bars, but I can't do away with the toolbox...It's packed full of tools and recovery equipment that I couldn't do without. Oh well...i'll mock it up each way and see what looks better I suppose.
@crombieposterboy sweet...sounds like a good plan to me. This will probably be my project for next week....aside from the spare tire carrier. lol. you think I should angle the tire carrier, to where the front of the tire is level with the toolbox lid? Or should I leave it flat? I'm thinking flat would allow for larger tires to fit easier...but angled would maybe look better, and give some bed space without having to remove the spare...
@crombieposterboy Do you have a process that you use when undercoating them? I was thinking of degreasing / pressure washing the underside, then hitting it with some permatex rubberized undercoating spray. Or do you have a better method? And sweet, it'll be interesting to see the bumpers on a newer rig.
Take that trailer pigtail, and loop it up somewhere. It will look a lot better, and won't get snagged on anything. I looped mine through the opening above the license plate. I stuck it out one side, and tucked it in the other. Keeps it from hanging down, and I don't have to crawl under the truck to grab it.
@FTORC1 Actually after I shot the video, i stuck the pigtail in one of the safety chain hoops next to the receiver tube under the step plate. Problem solved.
@crombieposterboy haha...yeah, most of that is just old mud and surface rust, nothing serious...but linex is a really good idea, might have to do that. However, I cannot in good mind ever sell my truck lol...BUT, you can have bumpers built like mine. interested?
Thanks for the great video. That's a sweet bumper and a sweet toyo!
