I don't think there's actually any snow there. Anything on the ground is remnants from some dumbass that had to go outside and do the"water in the air" trick. Couple million attempts later and you've got a snow removal problem. Pretty sure that's what happened. Amateur scientists caused the whole thing.
How do people not know what "vaporized" means? I is not "to be disintegrated into tiny little pieces", like Sci-Fi flicks and such have taught you... It actually means "for a liquid to turn into a gas", so ya, he was wrong too, but a lot of people commenting here are wrong too...
@Awshbuscus Actually, thinking about it he isn't technically wrong, but he made it look like he didn't really understand the process. Water vapour is a suspension of liquid water droplets in air (as opposed to steam, which is a gas) so it "vaporised" when he threw it into the air, but not because of the cold (in fact it probably vaporised because it was hot). The cold is what turned the vapour into snow.
'Course, it's been years since I did chemistry so this could be entirely wrong.
@Stranglehold432 I complain when it's more than -10 and swear when it's -25 :P disliked the last winter, we had continuously snow for.. umm not sure, maybe from november till april or something. in the Helsinki Airport (15km inland) the snow depth was 70cm for three months. luckily it melted quite fast in the beginning of april :)
You could probably do it in -5/10 or so, hot water has a rebound effect when cooled. e.g if i but boiling water in the freezer it will freeze faster than room temp water.
@vios688 I'm not sure mate, but there is a lot of people in Russia. Ha3 XD. But make sure you pee harder when you are in Siberia. Because it freezing quicker than your pee. XD
@VampirateBloodR8 Your comment is funny but is wrong in two different perspectives first of all its called the Sahara, there is no such place as the Africa Dessert, and its spelled DESERT with only one S, otherwise you are talking about the food that comes after the dish. You, kind sir, are an imbecile.
I don't know how he did that but someone needs to let him know that jesus christ does not approve of sorcery and if he keeps doing that soon his soul will be as black and dark as his magiks.
@TheRattyrattyrat so... the BBC is national corporation with a massive budget. They wouldn't waste their time and money faking a 20 second video to fool youtubers like you!
@LifeForm0 Your physics lessons are what's not right, as miceskin said, when you throw it up in the air, it turns into droplets, so there's a much larger ratio of surface area to volume touching the cold air. Think the water in the container is you in a sleeping bag with just you head peeking out, then if more of your surface area is outside (get out of the sleeping bag) your temperature drops much faster.
@tomsutey it would freeze in the bowl too but it takes sometime, if you throw it in the air the surface at air contact becomes much more (much much) so the heat is released very quickly and freeze in just one second as seen.
@PaddyMacNasty I think it's because the water literally gets turned to water vapor almost instantly, and then the cool down process results in the ice crystals. -40 is cold though! I've been in -50 and windchills down to -75. That's what happens in North Dakota though...I hate my life
@PaddyMacNasty Obviously lots of morons did, he was describing a chain of events, 1. The water instantly vaporized. 2. It turned to snow. No problem with that one, buddy. Just a whole lot of misunderstanding.
@Tr0lIed Are you special? @TeamToXicHQ because if it was above 100+ degrees celsius, it wouldnt even be in the pot. 100 degrees celsius = boiling point of water= transition from a liquid to a solid.
