I am good friends with some of his best friends and have actually hung out with him before, and gone to his older shows.

I have heard that they did not actually want to go this way with their music, but they got a bit of a "push" from their producers. Now, I'm sure that a lot of word is probably kept within the industry, so I'm not sure exactly how credible that is.

There was absolutely no push from any producers in the music we made. The gradual change in the style of music was a result of going through about 4 guitarists over the years as well as my voice maturing from the little 16 year old I was when VAH began.

I'll tell you that it sucks to not scream as well as I used to, but I'd rather save my voice then hurt it trying too hard.
