My beagle, was a "pure bred"(we didn't care) family pet, was from the "humane society" , because he had cherry eyes. He needed surgery to correct his eyes, which they said may need more correction in the future. Ralphy didn't need it for the rest of his long 15 and 1/2 year life. He was the best beagle ever lived, ever will live!!! (in my UNBIASED opinion) haha!!

I know it isn't true, because Uno has no sons or grandsons. The reason...Uno is sterile. Nice try though. BTW, I have a Beagle who's grandfather is Uno's father. Uno's father is a Beagle named Parker. Once again, Uno is sterile, and has no offspring of his own.

What was Uno's Pedigree name? I have papers which show his Pedigree name, and you can't enter the Westminster Dog Show if your dog is sterile.Dogs can reproduce at six months, so Uno may be sterile now, but I have papers that prove otherwise.

You can't enter a dog that is spayed or neutered, but there is no way of knowing if a dog is sterile. Look, I know Jon Woodring, who was one of Uno's owners, and I bought a dog from him. In fact my dog is a granddaughter of Parker, who is Uno's father. Jon told me Uno is sterile, and that's good enough for me. If you have any questions about it, ask Jon.

my beagle, snoopy, died the day uno won the westminster. the humane society found snoopy in a garbage bag on the side of a highway. it was the most painful moment of my life seeing him go. it was ironic that this happened and part of me believes that my snoopy lives in uno.

Greasy, stinky pepperoni bits are what is working best for us. Are beagle goes nuts in obedience training though. He wants to meet and greet and love on everyone so much he can barely focus on the task at hand. The first night there he threw himself on the ground and started howling because he wasn't allowed to play with the other dogs. lol It's like having a two year old sometimes but he's so adorable you can't stay mad for long.

OH, I'll bet he loves that pepperoni! We had to use turkey hot dogs because of less fat. My beagle was a rescue dog and he had been fed poorly for 3 years and his digestion wasn't the greatest. He wasn't even housebroken when I got him! He was absolutely the trickiest, most fun , loving dog I ever had!

There are lots of Beagles available through animal rescue....in Missouri 50 Beagles wound up in the pound and were to be put to sleep in they don't find a forever home...Petfinder is a good start...and remember to spay or neuter!

Agree. I got my beagle at the SPCA, he is a wonderful dog, doesn't bark either (unless he finds an unsuspecting cat in the hedges outside!). He is the sweetest dog too. I love my baby. Please go to a shelter to get a dog, and yes spay or neuter!

Don't get ANY dog if you are not willing to put in the time and effort!! Don't get a dog because you like the breeds looks. Someone I know got a pair of huskies because they liked their looks... big mistake. Best dog we ever had was a beagle that was in the pound. Never could figure out why anyone would give him up; handsome, smart, loving, easily trained. They do like to roam, so have a fenced yard; but I would not have a dog UNLESS I had a fenced yard.

Yes, I know, I was active in Colorado Beagle Rescue for 15 years b-4 my health went south. I fostered lots of beagles and my own went through lots of obedience training to get them as happy and healthy as they were. Repeat! Don't get a beagle unless you are willing to work and love the work and the beagle. They are worth it!
