  • Awesome!

  • best explanation ever!!

  • very helpful and fun! thank you

  • Thanks dude! Really nice video.

  • thanks for the video before i didnt have a clue what was it. What should be a good ratio for compressing the whole song?

  • THIS IS A GOOD TUTORIAL... the guy know what hes talking about, not like many other "tutorials" that many are doing in youtube..

  • Thank you so much, brother, such a good tutorial!

  • Very nice guy!

    Very useful videos!

I'm gonna compress in your name tonight.

  • Thank you! Very clear. Really appreciate it.

  • thank you! really needed this tutorial for a song i made that was getting too loud overall. im going to watch your other movies now. they're very helpful (subscribed too) :)

  • Indeed this is illuminating. I have been "compressing" intuitively for the last 30 years(!) but this made me comprehend the process in it's entirety. Very clear, very sharp.

I have seen other tutorials before you know, this is simply the best, on the compressor.

Only one thing left though... how to interpret the #@$%^

    graph on the plug-in ?

Thanks much for this flash of consciousness drew !

  • this is great, never knew any of this. You should be a teacher to do this and get paid!

  • Excellent tutorial. Thanks.

  • Can you do a video on how to master tracks using Logic's Compressor. I know the new issue of Music Tech Magazine talks about that a little.

  • Gain set the amount of the output for sure..

  • Thanks for the input LALLZ but I think you may be mistaken. This is copied directly from the logic manual.

"Gain slider and field: Sets the amount of gain applied to the output signal." -page 63

Maybe its different in older versions of logic, but in Logic Studio 8, the gain slider controls the output of the compressor.

  • The Gain is actually the Input for the Logic compressor rather than the Output as you'd think. If you drop the level on the gain you will see your reduction meter drop also.

  • @LALLZ If this is true, does the compressor have an automatic makeup gain or which button function as the makeup gain?

  • Valuable info as always.Thank You for the energy

  • Thanks so much! Also every track on a song gets compressed right? And also it would be nice if you went over EQ. Thanks Again keep up the good work.

  • blazed

  • I have been trying to understand this stuff for years. The two

videos have cleared this all up. This was wonderful,I get it now. Thanks

  • thx!!

    grtz from the Netherlands
