I LOVE this quartet!! I think I've re-played this vid some ten times tonight; can't get enough! I, too, grew up listening to one of my parent's singing (SPEBSQUA). My Dad - he sang in the chorus and in a quartet. At one time, they were called THE NO NAME FOUR, as they just couldn't figure out a proper name for themselves! To this day, I still enjoy barbershop singing the most (call me old fashioned, but I don't care!). You must be SO proud of your Mum!
But they have a double CD that can be purchased on line, and it is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I listen to it all time in the car. The ACOUSTICs ( from Dallas) also sing with them on this CD. These ladies are from Salt Lake City.
Just type in their name (brouser) and you will get the LINK.
absolutely amazing. i randomly clicked on this video but as soon as it started playing i couldn't tear my attention away from it. what lovely voices and harmony.
Hello all: I am proud to say that the woman standing 2nd from the right is my mom. Their quartet was called Panache. And they did in fact win the gold metal this year. From left to right, Sally Briner, Pam(forgot last name) Bonnie Mckibben(My mom) and Gerry Papageorge. And your righ thtye are terrific! :)
The camera recording does them no justice. If you were in the audience, there were times when parts of your body resonated with them. It feels like you will son explode if they don't stop. You could hear them IN your head and hear the notes ringing for three quartets later.
I was privileged to be in the audience the very first time that they sang this after the name change (which obviously didn't stick). There wasn't a dry eye in the house and I've never heard a louder standing ovation at any SA event. IMHO, the best quartet ever.
What a wonderful job Panache does with this old barbershop favorite. I could listen to barbershop all day. It's hard work to get all the harmony just right and I do so admire these ladies and wish them the best. Thank you for posting. - Paula
This quartet is, in my opinion, the best female barbershop quartet of all time! They are my favorite! Not to mention 2 of the ladies here are directors in my 2 choruses! I love you, Panache! You're the best!
