  • man dickau must have nightmares because of this game

  • actually, Wyoming had two All-Americans. Get your facts straight. And for the record, our best player had a mediocre game. We didn't play very well as a team and still beat the Zags.

  • wyoming had 0 all americans on the court that night, while gonzaga had 3 players who were all americans; however, Gonzaga were downed about their seeding and that was the hatchet tha buried them.

  • this was before i went to university of wyoming and was a gonzaga fan from yakima, wa.

i was so mind blown when gonzaga lost.

  • I was at this game and it was indeed a great game. You know, the thing that is really strange to me is that everyone says how big of an upset this was for the Cowboys. Well, yes it was in terms of seeding, but in terms of two mid-major teams duking it out, not so much and here's why.

Gonzaga was nothing more than a three-point shooting machine and that's it. They had no inside prescence, it was Dan Dickau for three all night long. Live by the three, die by the three. Gonzaga is so mediocre.

  • Nonsense. That team had Ronny Turiaf and Cory Viollete, two excellent post threats. Wyoming was big and Wyoming was good. But Gonzaga was an excellent team that year, a year that saw them trying to make their fourth straight Sweet Sixteen.

  • Actually, we didn't play as well as we could have. Wyoming was a legitimate sweet sixteen team that year with two All-Americans on the floor and several other future pros.

  • I remember this so well, I was crushed lol. The lesson of the day was STFU about seeding and come to play. Zags didn't and Wyoming did.

  • This game was over before it started, because Gonzaga was seriously pissed off about being seeded #6 and they were just out of sync, plus WYO played their asses off also.

  • Thank you for uploading this! I have been looking for years and years online for this footage.

I had a feeling Gus Johnson called this game, but I wasn't sure...up until now.

Along with the 2004 Las Vegas Bowl, this was probably my favorite Wyoming Cowboy memory. The Cowboys toppled Gonzaga and then conceded NOTHING to an outstanding Arizona team in the next round.

  • I remember this game, cause I was there!
