I'm a long time fan of many jam bands and have just discovered this one. Rocket 3 has the 33 minutes Magellan which just soars. JazzBass420 is right; DB sounds nothing like Phish. People think all jam bands play the same and it's not true. Actually, they sound a little more like .moe, yet where it takes .moe 10 mins to get to a great jam, DB wastes no time getting there. I like both bands equally, but each for different reasons.

A good album by the biscuits would be "they missed the perfume" or the new "planet anthem" album...but nothing beats the live shows by the biscuits, they dont fuck around ha, i would suggest listening to some live shit first mainly because they throw down way harder in person

The Disco Biscuits are a very original band. Sure they'll have songs that show influence from other bands, most musicians do. Why does it matter? It's just like anything, you learn from the past, you build on it and make it your own. It's just like writing, yea you can try as hard as you can to copy someones style but ultimately it'll end up being your own. It's pretty hard to make something completely original, in fact, it isn't possible. Maybe they are tributing Phish, Brownie's fav band...
