am i the only one who can say that this pc works great? i have had it for 2 years now and i love it! i played need for speed undercover on a ten hour train travel, and i only charged it for about half an hour when the train stoped. it works fine if you know how to handle a computer.

.. want to work. Also the optical drive decides when it wants to come out as well, I often have to reset it, also have to reset it the odd time to get it to sync with my iPhone on iTunes. To top this all off, the screen hinges decided to fire across my room one day meaning the screen lid closes all wonky and the screen has now gone. Having to buy a £7 cable from Tesco to now use it on my TV, I can safely say I cannot wait to get a new laptop and I will not be using Acer anytime soon..

Piece of shit. Got the 5410T (basically the same laptop). Not even 2 years old now, feels horrible quality, keyboard sticks all the time, I actually had to replace the keyboard because a numerous amount of keys fell off. Never ever got 8 hours out of the battery, 4 at the most. Battery wore down within a matter of months and now it lasts for about 15 minutes after being on charge for X amount of hours. It isn't a gaming PC. I own it for 2 years now, and biggest thing I got to run without frame lag was WoW on minimum details. Yet I'm completely satisfied with the functionality, battery life and processing speed. GFX sucks on games but it's awsome for watching movies (HD LED screen). I use this one alot for my studies and personal stuff.

i bought this, i never regret it. long battery, 4gb ram 500gb hard drive and the cpu is not slow AT ALL. of course, it is not for gaming but if you r a gamer, im sure u wouldnt buy this. bought it more than 1 year. i went to the pc store in my town and look for a laptop with long battery life and it is still no much to mine. it is either ram is 2gb or the hard drive is 320gb

have it for 1 year now. Battery is fine. Only complain is the slow processor. Run a game and skype in the same time and you're at 98 per cent. But I overclocked it from 1.3 to 1.6, so that's not a problem anymore.

i just bought this laptop. Im loving it. Drawback was the fact it came with Vista. Im installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. The energy consumption is really low, the battery last extremely long and the 4GB RAM helps with multitasking alot. No slowdown here. As for gaming, its not too gamer-friendly for hardcore players. It cannot run Crysis properly not even on low. Might run Fallout 3 gud enuff, Perfect World runs fine on it and World of Warcraft is cool on this system. I recommend it anyways.

@sagen888 its an ok computer it what it says it offers you long battery life and the speed is not spectacular such as a core 2 duo, however the price is very low you can now find it for £400 and spend smth like £70 for a new cpu processor to make it faster however this will make the battery life shorter, it has smth to do with how the cpus are used on the computer, another option is to go for windows 7, it uses less space to run prog, thus making the computer faster, hope ive helped......

Get a good dell XPS. they're exceptionally powerful lappys, and fair quite well in the long run.

If you have a fair bit of money to throw at a lappy and don't mind buying Windows 7 separate, than you could go with a Mac Book Pro. I'm by no means an Apple fanboy (I litterally own nothing from Apple) but their MBP line combines a good set of hardware.

I have an HP dv6000. My biggest issue was that my left hand would get really hot and your lap also from the way the computer distributes heat. Its also heavy to carry around. The Acer 5810T-8929 is lighter. It has a battery life of at least 6.5 hours. No hot spots. Has a full size keyboard. The keys are made of a smooth, flat surface and your fingers slide. Needs some getting used to. But overall, its a great computer for school, chatting and emails.

Why not just get a computer for games for gaming (like the hp dv series) ofcourse if you have the money. However just because it has a slow cpu, it doesn't mean its bad (it plays games good by the way) But you have to sacrifice some features for others, you can't have it all.

I recommend this comp, I love the price and it runs alot smoother then advertised. :-) (I have it)

If you want to play games, tthen I reccomend a gaming computer. I currently use mines to autocad and photoshop.
