  • It´s incredible what has produced great great music for this tiny island (UK) and hopefully will bring more ! I wish, I would be born there!

  • joyce fucking killed this one.

  • sweet

  • Great track!

  • there goes the perfect band

  • I was at this gig , maxwell halls got on stage too, oh happy days!

  • when Marr join Brian Ferry this went a song called The right stuff

  • thank god the smiths changed the set to when i seen them in the playhouse on that tour or i would never of seen this or heard it . seen them in the caly palais in edinburgh and glasgow barrowlands . best band ever. thanks for posting video.

  • This one was offered to Morrisey but he didn't write the lyrics for it. Didn't know they played it live.

  • @Voxac100b As was all the music that Johnny gave to Morrissey, they were all instrumentals, it was Morrisseys job create the vocal melodies, but he struggled with this one, "Oscillate Wildly" and "The Draize Train" Johnny obviously thought the were too good to be shelved.

  • Who played second guitar when they toured?

  • Craig Gannon.

  • @ahosek He didn't just play on the tour 86 tour, he played on the tracks "Panic", "Ask", "London", "Half a Person", "You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby"

He played with Aztec Camera & The Bluebells before that!

  • Bryan Ferry put lyrics to this song and it became "The Right Stuff".

  • thanks for this vid, very nice

  • One of those "back of the heads" at the front of the crowd is mine - great night.

  • haha that's cool.

  • Did Moz go backstage just for this song then

  • Oh yeah forgot about that one

  • This is the only purely instrumental apart from Oscilate Wildly ?????

  • I was there!

  • hmmm, only 4477 views on here, if only todays youth realised the importance of this band to british music. Truly Manchesters finest.

  • i do

  • Excellent performance, excellent song.

Anyone know who the third guitarist is?

  • you mean Craig Gannon?

  • Oh, right. '86. Thanks.

  • this Is SOOO Incredibly RARE!!!!

How Lucky Are We that The Web can Provide us With Sutch astronomicley sizable bounty!!!

    I Love This Group!!!!

Check Out The Queen Is Dead From the Same Gig... It's Unreal.

  • Great music...even better then the cover THE RIGHT STUFF by Brian Ferry

  • Wow, I was just watching Johnny Marr in Bryan Ferry's video for the song, "The right stuff", and it's basically "Money Changes Everything", with lyrics. :)

  • Yep, thats right--which is why The Right Stuff is credited to Marr(music)/Ferry(lyrics). Bryan Ferry obviously liked the music and had to hunt down Johnny Marr to produce a vocal version. Johnny Marr is my favourite British musician.

  • one of the best guitarrist ever, if not the best

  • FANtaStICOs::!

  • Awesome video! Apparently Marr rated this gig as the greatest he ever did with The Smiths. I think Rourke & Joyce also said the same thing. Ive been looking for a live performance of this instrumental for ages!! Cheers for sharing.

PS The video keeps crashing at 1:44, is this just me or are others experiencing the same prob

  • wow!
