You've inspired me to do some urban mining. I agree about being honest. For scrap, you have to do some extra work, so letting people know about what they have in metal weight and your mark-up is the right thing to do. Repeat and referral business is the key to success. Thanks for the insight!
1935 was the last year for real silver $1 coins in circulation. There were some 40% Ike's in the early 70's but only in proof sets. From 1986-current the US mint makes 1 oz pure Silver American Eagle bullion coins, they are legal tender but you would lose about $16 spending them! Dimes, Quarters, and Halves were 90% silver until 1964 (notice how 10 dimes, or 4 quarters, or 2 halves, or 1 silver dollar all equaled the same amount of metal)
Max Keiser has been more correct than ron paul or peter schiff over the years but he's gotta stop creating comex default rumors. He's starting another one for march lol. It might work this time where it failed in Dec 08.
HaHaH. he is trying to gather support to free gold from the central banksters manipulation on the Comex. and he was successful in making over fifty percent of the people on comex take physical delivery. His action had a serious effect on the comex since on average about 1% only ask for delivery.
mustangjake2073 do you melt down the gold yourself? Or do you go to a smelting co.? Do you know if there is a smelting co and an assayer near toronto? I have been searching like mad with no luck. Not rich at all but want to get into this urban gold game, please help.
