  • Its a beautiful sequence ;)

Oh, and "the schrittmacher is digital...

  • Its a beautiful sequence ;)

  • whats your latency ?

Since your triggering kore with the octopus I assume that it most be pretty low ,

  • @WARDISWARD It's been a while since I did this video. I use the Octopus mainly with hardware now. I was using my Apogee Duet in this video and probably had my buffer set at 128 samples, definitely no higher than 256. I believe that would put the latency at around 3 ms at 44.1k for 128 samples.

  • Hey buddy! Have you tried to play Mario with this?

  • can i ask why you bought this? if your using softsynths? would you not use a software based sequencer? seems like a lot of money to pay if your using softsynths? i aint knocking you, i am just curious as i was thinking of buying the nemo but i am using hard synths? also is it quite complex to use? and is it inspirational for creativity? i am debating whether a soft synth can doall thesee things the octopus can do, take numerology sequencer for the mac for example. opinion appreciated, thanks

  • Well, softsynths aren't the only thing I use. I do use hardware too. The main reason I bought it is because I wanted an alternative to using a computer for my sequencing. The Octopus(and the Nemo I assume) is very deep. At the surface, it is very easy to get in to and use for short sequences and patterns, but there is much more once you learn it well. I do find it inspirational to use. It feels more like working with a fine instrument rather than a software tool.

  • @empirix I personally find that the Manikin Schrittmacher is far supperior to this unit...I test drove both of them at Analogue Haven when It was a store front and chose to buy "the Schrittmacher"....

  • @liverawkstar really? i thought the genoqs gear was the best, i bought a nemo, very happy with it. i was going to buy the new cirklon too but i'll check this out, very pricey though, cheers

  • Yes, its a great instrument! I have the classic one.

  • An amazing machine, the hours of fun would be endless. I would like to hear a prophet hooked up to it.

  • Yeah, it is incredible. It is surprisingly deep too. I would love to have a prophet, I'm just not impressed by the knobs if they are anything like the knobs on my MEK. Maybe I'll get one if they make the module with pots instead of the encoders.

  • Thanks for posting. Looks fun.

  • Are the drums/drummachine being controlled via MIDI OUT 2 port or recorded to the MIDI IN? Thanks...John

  • Actually, the drums are from one of the instances of Absynth 4 running within Kore. They are being triggered by the bottom track on the Octopus. I have Octopus MIDI OUT 1 going into Kore MIDI in.

  • NICE!!...just bought one and can't wait to get it...any advice?

  • Well, I read through the manual numerous times before I got mine. However, some of the things in the manual don't make real sense until you have the Octopus in front of you. It is a wonderful instrument and very easy to start using. You will have a blast with it.
