They are gettign a lot more well known yeah, but at the same time they sound really good, and don't just do genaric cookie cutter bullshit and are in it for the money. Neither have they EVER been like that, Kataklysm are truly dedicated musicians, so wether they're mainstream or not you know that they're awesome. They are what other bands want to be. Still, they need to bring the brutality back. Even Cryptopsy decided to go back to their older sound. Not even joking Eury said so.
Well I think they're gonna keep the cleaner hardcore sound they are now known for. But I think (If you've ever head UK straight through.) they're going for the heavier sound, and probobly gonna have Matt quit the high screams and do something closer to Disalvo's vocal style. TBH, I want them to try and keep some Unspoken King with them, but try and be a little more creative with it. Instead of 3 ultra heavy songs then another 5 or so mid-paced boring songs that are just lame.
@tonifreyr They did not change style because they wanted to whore in cash. They changed it because Sylvain was literally a tyrant of the band. He made them do everything he wanted them to do, including the style they didn't exactly want to do. He's been described as VERY hard to work with and an overall difficult person. After he left/was booted, Kataklysm experimented (hence the laughable unmastered version of Victims), and later adopted their style they wanted.

these guys hada real unique in the mid 90's. just when i thought that all the ideas in death metal were gone, they came up with this, a progressive death/grind album that blew me away.
shame they became a shitty 'deathcore' band though. ok, not quite deathcore, but more of a death metal influenced hardcore band.
