If we cloned the columbian mammoth back and reintroduced them to the wild in africa, I garuntee you the African bush elephant would avoid them like the plague, after all columbian mammoths are twice as large, and could step on lions, and have tusks large enough to impale an elephant through the stomach and out the back. Now if we brought T-Rex into the mix, the elephant population would hit rock bottom overnight.

galactusz? the only reason thats true is the fact that tarantuals have venom, any venomous creature could easily destroy a non-venomous animal its own size, but, if the lion - the size of a tarantuala - was venomous (this includes having perfectly adapted venom-injecting mouth-parts, such as the tarantula) the lion will easily win.

Nope. The tarantula the size of the lion would still demolish the lion...even without venom. It would be several times the strength of the lion. Case in point...an ant the size of a lion also destroys the poor kitty cat. Arachnids, insects...they all would be very scary creatures in supersize form. Thank nature for making them small, lol.

Well, i guess you may be right there, i personaly dont read alot about insects, arachinds and crustaceans - generally invertabrates- but an ant for example the size of a felids or ursids such as lions, brown bears, tigers, etc - the ant would most likely win - again, not 100%.

elephants have zero problem destroying any other large land animal.
they can actually kill hippos and rhinos easily (look it up. they do it often while under stress)
lions have no chance in combat with a hippo or a rhino (single handedly)
elephants would not have a problem destroying any lion without effort
