I like what Marian is doing. Personally, I like to see what he would do with slower tempos, occasionally. But there are plenty of pianists who choose to play jazz at slower tempos. For one thing it allows the listener to hear and appreciate the subtle changes in harmony. But it is all beautiful, taken faster or slower.

Ok here's one thing that I'd like people to consider before making hate comments about Marian Petrescu. Have you listened to him close enough before judging him? Because in some videos he just plays so beautiful. I think he plays a lot of notes but in the 'right' places.

Besides, sure simple music appeals to a lot of public and even a lot of musicians. But complex music is another form of music that should be appreciated as much as simple music especially by musicians.

if you go to america, the guys around 17 18 years old play fantastic jazz, marian petrescu is very good but not the best, peteson is the best, and others like chick corea, sow on...

The technique is there-coming from playing and HOURS of practicing CLASSICAL music, make NO mistake there, but LACK of depth and understanding what jazz is about is obviously there, clearly visible to anyone who understand jazzmusic. Put some MEANING into the notes man!! ., its all just another COPY of Oscar without swing and groove..The GROOVE is not present. Thats something you have to have -depending on your lifestyle etc..no offense , nothing personal.Let me hear YOU,dont copy-i haveOscarHom

Ok, this guy is insanely admirable for his technique....that's about it. I don't think i've ever really heard him play something very sensitive, just when i thought he might, he went into fast licks. i understand that for a piece like this, but for the one 'my romance' i thought one would probably play less for more.

I agree with you :) you got it bro :)! Oscar P playing attracts lot of piano playersbut, BUT ..very few are capable to keep the groove , and this is NOT one of those. Seems like he is really enjoying playing faster n faster:) LOL well, maybe he should compete with Gonzalo -would like to watch that comedy . There is nothing wrong is his playing-hes aclassical piano player-everyone calls him a jazz player- he aint !., a copycatperhaps..wanna hear HIS music, I have Oscar at home 1000 CDs :)

anyone else out there thinks that this guy is fatser and more accurate than anyone; cziffra, argerich, volodos, lisitsa, horowitz etc...he just made my jaw drop...listen to Indiana ..with him, it's here posted, he literary plays groups of four notes with both hands somewhere around 200 or faster bpm.

Son jeu est plus sophistiqué quecelui d'oscar Peterson . Peterson est un artisant du jazz , et à surtout était un très grand compositeur .Marian Petrescu a une technique stupéfiante et magique . Je suis quasi - certain que Petrescu s'est inspiré de Peterson pour étudier , car on retrouve des odeurs du jeu Peterson. merci pour la vidéo!
