Someone once pointed out that there may not actually be a timeline for the Legend of Zelda games. It may be that LttP, OoT and the other Link/Zelda/Gannon centric games are actually derivations of the original Legend of Zelda but with elements changing as what happens with legends which are passed down by word of mouth. The others, like AoL, MM and WW, are different yet unrelated stories of what happened to Link following the original story.

I was curious when the concept of Heart Pieces was first set, and the answer, Legend of Zelda 2 A link to the Past. In Links Awakening you attack the Hens, Cucco, enough times the attack you back, but in Twilight Princess they do a temporary body swap in which you control the Cucco.

If you look at the picture in the house the girl who calls the guards runs into,(Don't talk to her) you'll see Mario! You can also press A in front of it and back on the D-pad and hold it and 20 rupees will fly out!
