  • These brothas are sick!

  • This was playing at a Starbucks here, awesome! Recognized it instantly.

  • This tune is seriously just some good stuff, sax riffs at 0:40 and throughout seriously make my day! Love The Crusaders!

  • Super!!!

  • Can't believe I haven't posted a comment on this song. Was gonna turn this one off but couldn't bring myself to stop it. 9:00 seems way too short for this one. Great post.

  • Heard this when I was 17 at Ft. Gordon, Ga ~ 35yrs ago...Has stood the tests of time...excellent piece!

  • Orgazmik!!!!!

  • Fantastic song!!!!!

  • Excellent Shit!

It's like being in a "Dirty Harry" movie...But it's great Music & Production. Joe Sample can still Out-Produce most of these smooth jazz guys any day!

  • These guys were my first ever live band i heard it was at Hammersmith London in the 70s i was 17 saw them 10 years later in in the states... one of the best jazz band ever...they dont make them like this anymore

  • コレはたまらん…。

  • this is a nice song

  • Very thanks!

  • Very thank you.

  • the Crusaders at their BEST.... Truly original Crusaders beat

  • London W1 Crackers back in the days

  • @emmettk These boys are no joke. Each member is for real with their respective instrument. Too bad Wayne "Big Daddy" Henderson left the group to persure a solo career.

  • Jazz funk at its best! Of all the Crusaders' tracks this was the one that got me up on the dance floor and so my fav track. Had the priviledge to see them at the Hammersmith Odeon (think it was 82/83 and WOW..... what a night!!

  • @turolu me to i was there only 15 best night ever my cousin introduced me to their music

  • When you listen to this, take some time and check out what these guys are doing individually- Stix Hooper on drums, Joe Sample on keys, Larry Carlton on guitar, Wilton Felder on sax and Pops Popwell on bass. True musicianship by each of them. This is my favorite Crusaders track.

  • @emmettk this is also my favourite crusaders , i still remember back in the day hearing this live , those days arnt lost ..hit the play buton , close your eyes , cool beer , and back in the front row again ..

  • wow this is an amazing song.....i definitly can break to it

  • 1977 and I am working on the E-Type in the driveway, blasting this whole album; sharing with neigbors. Maybe some of them didn't appreciate it like me. I didn't care, I was young and ...... It just made me feel great!!!!!

  • This song is so badass. Joe Sample killed it, although everyone of 'em is exceptional!

  • Life can be sweet and life can be sour......Sweet n' Sour...But this is pure Magic...OMG.....What a arrangement.......Thank you for this post............

  • Life can be sweet and life can be sour......Sweet n' Sour...and this is Magic...Thank you for this post............

  • ...youtube will pull it again.........

  • yall so silly but so rite!!! straight cop drama intro!!

  • Great..Awesome.. Definitely Larry Carlton on the Lead G. He left the group after this album. The Album debut Fall 76...Just returned from Germany. Actually this album was the followup to "Those Southern Knights."

  • I don't see a car chase like a couple of the comments I read, but what I do see is; perhaps driving in a car, at night, it's raining just a little; and the city is completely lit up like Las Vegas, and all kinds of very interesting people, dressed to the "T" are walking up and down the strip ready to party. "That's what I see" when I listen to this piece.

  • GOOD VIBES

  • Love this post. Ralph macdonald on conga is a great fit.

  • One of my all time favorite tunes. TLDavis is right - you can hear this playing in the background of something like a Steve McQueen cop thriller circa 1976. AWESOME!!!

  • Crusaders Greatest Song. Stix Hooper is my man ...

  • Melting face :3

  • i have liked this tune since the age of 15 .it is my theme tune xx

  • The car was speeding getting chased by the cops and just when the car turned a fast corner the hubcap came off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rolling OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Larry Carlton played guitar on this one, If I'm not mistaken.

  • @sharkbait8088 I believe he left by 75'

  • @JColeM7785 According to wiki ---The group shortened their name to "The Crusaders" in 1971, and adopted a jazz-funk style. They also incorporated the electric bass and electric guitar into their music. Bass guitarist Robert "Pops" Popwell and guitarist Larry Carlton joined the band, and featured on the group's albums throughout most of the 1970s. --- this album was released in 1977, I'm positive Larry Carlton played on this track since I used to own the vinyl of this album

  • @sharkbait8088 Those horn stabs and slight hi hats make me feel like the FBI are on my tail.

  • @Discovios

Hahaha, great visual effect in your comment.

  • @sharkbait8088

yep, defo Larry Carlton on guitar. I think he actually left after Free As The Wind though.

  • such a good sensation to hear this music... wow... it's freedom..

  • Classy with badass written all over it

  • i used to imagine myself in one of those" the seven ups " car scenes when i used to hear this as a kid

  • everytime they go SOLO wOW! this the kind of sounds we listen to when we are on top speed to baguio city on holidays our earl age. listen when they go solo.

  • Now this song is totally bad ass...is it me or can you see a 70s movie soundtrack coming out of this?

  • Im with you on that comment TL... I CAN SEE A CAR CHASE WITH THIS TUNE!

  • @TLDavisJazzChannel

not a classic like shaft more a one series made for TV private detective drama. The main character would have been black with a caring attitude. Like Frank Cannon he`ll do a job for nothing if he thinks the client can`t afford him, but carrying a few issues; split from his wife who still loves him but couldn`t live with him and his job. He`ll also be haunted by the memories of the teenager he killed trying to stop a gas station hold up.

  • One of my alltime fav joints...this is AS SERIOUS AS THEY COME!!!!!!

  • Hmmm, I like this version... it's got a real organic vibe going on...

  • Absolutely awesome! listen to Larry and Weldon.....especially the last part . All those good memories..

  • you mean Wilton Felder?

  • I've been listening to this track for decades now and it simply never loses any of it's beauty

  • Crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrusaders...

    Peace&Musikiller
