He is in the tank for Obama, obviously there is no media objectivism - especially considering he has a tingle up his leg.
He wants to do everything to make the "Obama" administration work, I wonder if he would say the same if a Republican was voted into office in 2012.....I guess time will tell.
Did anyone complain when he said the EXACT SAME THING ABOUT President Bush 8 years ago? I distinctly recall him saying something to the effect of: the bottom line is, whether you voted for him or not, he is going to be the President for the next 4 years and as an American, I hope he succeeds.
Ya missed the key point. There's no problem in hoping the government runs smooth and ends with positive results for the US. The fourth estate is useless if it becomes a cheerleader for the executive branch. IT AINT HIS JOB TO MAKE SURE ANYBODY IN WASH DC IS SUCCESSFUL. Unless he wishes to join a politician's staff or have we become one of those countries with official govt. approved press coverage. Pravda anyone?
Yes. It is delicious. It is the justification of 6 year olds. All that bluster about being smarter and enlightened tossed out the door and left with "Johnny did it too Mrs. Jones". Use of this defense is basically an admission of guilt, with that refreshing after-dinner dash of whining.
I believe Chris Matthews is courting Obama, he looks and acts like a love sick teenage the past 18 months. He sounds like a fool.
And for those of you who are making comments about Fox....the national media organization has done polls and found fox to be split 50/50 on negativity and stories throughout this campaign.
This is why MSNBC is failing and fox crushes them in ratings in EVERY time slot.
Okay. If the U.S. can have a right-wing television news network like FOX news, than why can't it have a left-wing news network. In the end it all balances out. People who watch FOX news are getting what they want to hear: Praise for the right. People who watch MSNBC get what they want to hear: Praise for the left. I understand the media is supposed to be unbiased, but let's cut the bull, it's all about RATINGS. It's all about money. Capitalism at it's bloody best, isn't that what the U.S. wants?
There is plenty of left wing news New York Times, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe, Washington Post, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, Newsweek, Time, etc. The reason for talk radio and Fox News was a response to the Main Stream Media's liberal bias.
Yes, but it seems since late 2001 many of those news groups jumped on the Bush bandwagon and I can't completely blame them, and they've slowly clamored off as people lost faith in the Bush administration. And just as Fox News was a response to liberal bias, MSNBC is a response to the last 8 years.
A question that comes to mind is, did people lose faith in Bush's policies before the media, or did the media lose faith first? It's a chicken or egg problem.
Maybe The One can consolidate/compensate the Obamedia by creating The Ministry of Truth.
Heir Matthews can be a good little soldier and report all the good and successful news of our Glorious Leader to us lowly peons. That is his job.
He is a JOKE, not a journalist. Hardballs..ha, more like little-bitty soft balls. I'm sure he calls Obambi before every show...yassa' massa', yassa, whatever you say massa'.
I guess some puppets enjoy having a hand shoved up their rear end more than others.
You know, I'm getting really sick of conservatives bitching about this comment.
Fox News has been in the tank for the neocons since at least 1992. GOD FORBID a couple people on MSNBC start fighting back and doing the same for the other side!
I'm not aware of anyone at Fox saying anything close to what Matthews said. Maybe you can post a link where a major reporter @ Fox says his job is to make Pres. Bush look good or respectable...or that he gets a thrill up his leg when he gives a speech.
BTW. Matthews can say whatever he wants, he just can't do it and be considered a journalist, let alone a serious national journalist. Maybe he could call himself a 'President-Proper-Upper' or maybe a propagandist.
This right here should be the end of MSNBC. Good job on Joe and Mika for holding his feet to the fire. Keith, Chris and Rachel.....what a steaming pile of shit. I wonder if he would have said the same thing if McCain were elected. Biggest joke of a station on tv.
Fox News is a bigger joke. Please spare me this "MSNBC IS HORRIBLE" BULLSHIT. Matthews, Olbermann, and Rachel are partisan, while every other show on the network is pretty balanced.'
MEANWHILE, FOX NEWS has been so in the tank for neocons since at least 1992, and was free campaign press for Bush and McCain. So please, SPARE ME.
It isn't a journalist's job to make a president successful, but, I agree with Matthews that we shouldn't try to cripple a brand new administration right out of the gate with petty little things like this.

since fox news is halfway balanced it appears like it's right wing when compared to the others..

I love how the only way to justify MSNBC bias is to say that Fox News is biased too.
