I ran across a video of Mr. Batio playing in a bossa style on acoustic guitar. I think the title was Jazz Ballad or something like that. Does he have an instructional video of something in that style? I play mainly acoustic and some instruction in that style would help tremendously. Thanks in advance for your response.

So that you are always alternate picking. Most people can do it faster when you don't have to think about it and always maintain "down - up - down - up.

@kennedy3212124 What do you really mean by "to learn"? Do you have a desired speed level that you have to reach before you think you've learned it? Or do you mean just getting the basic technique down in order to play up/down continously. And also, we have NO clue about on which level of playing you are right now, or how much you are willing to practice, or how quick of a learner you are. It's impossible to even make a proper guess! What were you thinking when asking this question?

Here is why i like batio. He isnt afraid to use a capo or what anyone will say. He is one of the fastest and greatest guitarists to ever live with or without the capo. He doesnt fuck around or try to act like a macho man by not using the capo

Michael Angelo Batio is King! because of the speed kills DVDs I can shred (thank god!) speed kills is the only dvd that made scene to me... I just wanted to say thanks because i don't wanna stop learning now! when i go to music collage in september this DVD will help like crazy with my playing capability

totally right, in my first year I also in some riffs didn't do alternate picking, but some mash up where I would go from one string to the one beneath by two down-strokes...

it didn't take much pratice, maybe 14 hours or so, but concentrating on correct alternate picking makes it much easier - because your picking stops being random and chaotic if you practice the same thing over and over again.
