@ajsledzep Although there have been many instances where Christians propagated violence for the wrong reasons. BUT the judgment of God is real, there was a flood that wiped out almost everything and everyone, and Jesus will come again for the final judgment. Our God certainly is loving and gracious, but he is also Holy as such sin has no place to be with God. There for He send Jesus Christ his son that all may be spared this final judgement by trusting in Jesus to have died for them.

@paikimchung God knew the future of the amalekites and knew that they were sure to end in their own destruction. it would probably be better for the babies to not go through that pain and God knew this. think of an old dog who is about to die. Would you want him to live on but suffer through it? Or would you put him down so he can be at peace and not suffer any longer? in what he did was through love and justice for their crimes as well. you just have to trust GOD that he knows what is best.

He is a God of love, but he is also a God of Wrath. His wrath is not uncontrolled, however. If the people are corrupting his creation, he will try to cleanse the people. If they reject him, he will cleanse the Earth of said people.
@ajsledzep I think i know. My church had a sermon about this a while ago. Think about it. The Amalekites had to be wiped out cause they were lost people, too far from god, and major sinners. If only the adult men had been killed, and all the women and children had been set free, what do you think they would have done? They would have wanted revenge. That one thought would burn in their hearts, and they would probably start another war with the israelites, and more blood would be shed. he knows.
@ajsledzep The sin of the first generation is passed down to the next, which is why they killed everyone including the kids. Even if they were just babies, they had evil spirits in them because of the sins of the generation before them. It's difficult to explain without the passage, but basically the Amalekites were sinners. God cursed them because they didn't want to obey him. That curse, along with the sins, pass down from generation to generation. Which is why they were told to kill them all.
@ajsledzep I am listening to this song after losing my baby a week ago (1/6/12). I know beyond a doubt that he is safe in the arms of God. It says so in the scriptures, it is more than 'just a nice thought'. I don't know why God allowed my Jediah to live for nine months inside me just to take him before birth,but I do know that his life is far better where he is now,God has spared him from the misery of this earth, just as He did with many other babies. God's plan is ALWAYS best. :)

@Lurgie1 Well, really, not all Christians are "religous". There is a difference between having a relationship with God and having to follow rules. Some churches say you have to do certain things or you can't go to Heaven. True you should do things that make God happy (love your neighbor as yourself, love God, going to Church to learn about him) but all he wants us to do is teach his word truthfully and leave the rest to him. I can't make you love God, only he can, but I'll pray for you :)

@amakuna Christ is the big tree, there used to be one big church (way) on how people worshiped God, but that church broke apart into different branches and so on and so on. Now people strongly live to their way of praise and worship. It might seem wrong and different to some because they were strictly, taught, their way. I'm a Pentecostal christian, i have catholic friends, baptists friends, friends from lutheran churches (sry i 4gt how 2 call'em:D) etc etc. Point is, we r al chldrn of God:D

Almost exactly one year ago, I prayed for God to lead me to people's hearts who needed a friend. He led me to sit with people who were sitting alone during lunch at my school. He has started a burning fire in my <3 for the lonely and there is nothing that will stop me from shining the love of Christ and reaching out to the people around me! It's not all about our own little world and I am ready to start a revolution with the greatest hero by my side, and that is the wonderful Jesus Christ! :D

Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.” Your against abortions but your own God commanded the killings of millions of innocent babies. Why couldn’t your god just rapture up these babies? I mean he has the power to do so, but I guess he saved the rapture for you guys.

@ajsledzep Although there have been many instances where Christians propagated violence for the wrong reasons. BUT the judgment of God is real, there was a flood that wiped out almost everything and everyone, and Jesus will come again for the final judgment. Our God certainly is loving and gracious, but he is also Holy as such sin has no place to be with God. There for He send Jesus Christ his son that all may be spared this final judgement by trusting in Jesus to have died for them.

@ajsledzep I completely get where you come from. It is a hard thing to put your mind around for sure. God HAS shown his mercy and HAS given his mercy. Each and everyone from the beginning of Creation had the choice to believe and choose God.
Now what about babies right? I honestly do not know if babies or at whatever age you can acknowledge God, but I do know that God is JUST. Perhaps these babies didn't have a long life on earth but through Christ have eternal life in heaven with God

@paikimchung God knew the future of the amalekites and knew that they were sure to end in their own destruction. it would probably be better for the babies to not go through that pain and God knew this. think of an old dog who is about to die. Would you want him to live on but suffer through it? Or would you put him down so he can be at peace and not suffer any longer? in what he did was through love and justice for their crimes as well. you just have to trust GOD that he knows what is best.

@crocalu God doesn't expect anything from us. He knows we're sinful. There is the Bible. That's his evidence. It is what it is, either you accept is as evidence and have faith, or you don't. He is a God of love, but he is also a God of Wrath. His wrath is not uncontrolled, however. If the people are corrupting his creation, he will try to cleanse the people. If they reject him, he will cleanse the Earth of said people.

@ajsledzep I think i know. My church had a sermon about this a while ago. Think about it. The Amalekites had to be wiped out cause they were lost people, too far from god, and major sinners. If only the adult men had been killed, and all the women and children had been set free, what do you think they would have done? They would have wanted revenge. That one thought would burn in their hearts, and they would probably start another war with the israelites, and more blood would be shed. he knows.

@ajsledzep The sin of the first generation is passed down to the next, which is why they killed everyone including the kids. Even if they were just babies, they had evil spirits in them because of the sins of the generation before them. It's difficult to explain without the passage, but basically the Amalekites were sinners. God cursed them because they didn't want to obey him. That curse, along with the sins, pass down from generation to generation. Which is why they were told to kill them all.

@ajsledzep I am listening to this song after losing my baby a week ago (1/6/12). I know beyond a doubt that he is safe in the arms of God. It says so in the scriptures, it is more than 'just a nice thought'. I don't know why God allowed my Jediah to live for nine months inside me just to take him before birth,but I do know that his life is far better where he is now,God has spared him from the misery of this earth, just as He did with many other babies. God's plan is ALWAYS best. :)

But, in the contrast you gave - Amalekites and babies: if there there's such a thing as guilt for wrong-doings the babies would be considered innocent, obviously. The Amalekites, on the other hand, not so much.

Look at Jerusalem now, it is in a vicious cycle of death and vengences because of the deaths of their fathers and or of their children.

I pray everyday for my atheist coworkers. that they would keep an open mind at work. I pray everyday for the Holy Spirit to lead me in my business and that I would conduct work in a christian manner. @Lurgie1 Well, really, not all Christians are "religous". There is a difference between having a relationship with God and having to follow rules. Some churches say you have to do certain things or you can't go to Heaven. True you should do things that make God happy (love your neighbor as yourself, love God, going to Church to learn about him) but all he wants us to do is teach his word truthfully and leave the rest to him. I can't make you love God, only he can, but I'll pray for you :)

Little laws in a church cannot make christians to be enemies and attackers. It's normal that all church laws must be different from each other. @amakuna Christ is the big tree, there used to be one big church (way) on how people worshiped God, but that church broke apart into different branches and so on and so on. Now people strongly live to their way of praise and worship. It might seem wrong and different to some because they were strictly, taught, their way. I'm a Pentecostal christian, i have catholic friends, baptists friends, friends from lutheran churches (sry i 4gt how 2 call'em:D) etc etc. Point is, we r al chldrn of God:D

@Lurgie1 What you describe is one part of the greatest commandment. Love your neighbor as yourself. (Greatest being to love God). As we love others, we also need to be loved and recharged, that in part is what worship gives us. (plus more)
I apologize for our sinful behavior (we are a work in progress) it sounds like you do not see us Christians life out these two greatest commandments. But please trust me as I say that for us who have been saved by Christ, we are trying!

@paikimchung Yes You're right and actually Lurgir1 is talking about all the spiritual things and stuffs, but I tell you that Humans can disappoint you or hurt you they aren't always the same, but Jesus is the same who never Changes! He loved us so much!, The Everlasting Love , peace you get in Christ i think that is only the biggest wealth, I love Jesus and I am not ashamed to say I love Jesus.

I prize my salvation higher than any object or earthly thing because when i die It wont matter if i had lots of money or stuff, it's that i will be going to Heaven so that i may praise my best freind, my savior, Jesus.

@Lurgie1 You know why we love God? Its cos He first loved us. Its just a natural reaction to someone who loves us so much. We can't help it :) But you know what, as much as your parents love you, God loves you so much more. Its okay if you don't believe in God, but just so you know, God is real, and He loves u, just as you are :)

I can't make you love God, only He can change your heart, but I will say this; God loved YOU so much he sent his ONLY son to DIE for YOU. He loves YOU even if you refuse to love Him. @Lurgie1 Well if there is no God, or you don't believe in God. then answer these questions. Where did we come from? Evolution? The big bang theory? OK lets start with the big bang which is what science tells us created the world.. Well what caused the big bang? Hmm? And as far as evolution. What caused species to change and evolve. Not much left to say about that. what about the human body itself, how it defies many laws of science. You think a big bang could create something as amazing as that?

1. You know what? I love my parents more than this stranger. At least I know they're real and they deserve all my thanks for bringing me up, feeding me, clothing me, loving me, much more than any fairy tale has done. Be real people, and give all your energy and praise to your fellow, real-life human companions. You will make much more people happy that way.
