Haha my family's Italian and my dad says this all the time. I'd never heard anyone say Nadia's Italian slang words outside of my family. He laughed so hard when I showed him this video XD
Nadia Giosia, do you personally answer on this site? My friend Lynn and I enjoy your Cooking Channel show immensely! "Bitchin' Kitchen" ROCKS! Lynn turned me onto "BK".
LOL I caught myself "mingia-ing" at frustrating people after a year with my Italian bf. The other day I overheard him cursing in Russian. We should not procreate.
In El Salvador, they say "Puta" (whore), "Hijo de puta" (son of a whore), or "a la gran puta" (to the great/big whore. as if she sent misfortune your way, like the devil or something to that extent) when they stub their toe sort of thing, when something stupid happens or when you're very very upset. Lol my aunts, being mostly tomboys growing up, would say that a lot. I also heard " 'hue puta" as a quickly said version of "hijo de puta" lol
MInghia is the mot versitile of the Sicilian words: ex: Che minghia fai?!! or Minghia quand e bella! etc. etc. :o) Just saw the show here on The Cooking Channel . It Rocks!
The most memorable foreign phrase my grandfather said was after he would pretend to spit on both hands, rub them together, and slap one on the other loudly. Then he would say, "POW!...po dupie!", which means "POW!...the ass!" in Polish. He would say that when he was saying we're going to get our asses beat if we were misbehaving. I think his grandfather also would say that to him, though! :)
@BitchinKitchenOnline So-so...but he was more of an "upright" type of guy than a "nice" guy if you know what I mean! :) He helped me (indirectly) learn how a hard teacher can also be a good teacher!
@krononomikon It's true! Those hard teachers were truly the best!! It seemed like the more fear you had towards a teacher, the more you learned. Who knew!
scusami un attimo bitchinkitchen..ma tu sei italiana? figlia di italiani? i tuoi nonni erano italiani? scusami se te lo dico ma il tuo italiano lascia un pò a desiderare.. :D..
Comunque se mi vuoi chiedere il significato di qualche parola io sono disponibile, sono italiano, quindi ti puoi fidare.. ci sentiamo,ok?
@TheSixred That what I thought my parents are both Sicilian and I always pronounced it Mincha LOL and I was told not to say it but I do everytime I stubb my toe or things go wrong. My dad use to say it all the time too I miss him something ferice :(
Thanks to Nadia I can now say that I have successfully knocked one out in under a minute :)

MINCHIA not MINGHIA... you have to pronounce it: MINKIA with the K.
Minchia literally means: dick, cock. It is an vulgar italian word!!!
Kisses from Italy.

"Minchia" not "mingia". It's meaning "penis"
TheSixred 2 years ago
Hey Sixred,
Minchia, ai raggione!
Maybe you can help us define this one: Schiaccia Palle.
XOBK
BitchinKitchenOnline 2 years ago
schiacciapalle. Synonymous: spaccapalle; rompipalle; rompicoglioni; scassacazzi; scassaminchia, etc.
In American: pain in the ass or Scraggler (undesiderable person)
TheSixred 2 years ago
LOL... fantisically done! My favorite is "rompicoglioni" my grandmother taught me that one at a early age!
We should totally have more suggestions for our Word of the Day series!!! What`s everyone`s favorite slang word?
