  • Thanks to Nadia I can now say that I have successfully knocked one out in under a minute :)

  • Of course, there is also the "appropriate for TV" version, which is just "Miii"

  • @ChrisK42 Not many people know what it means :P XO the BK Crew

  • @BitchinKitchenOnline Another reason to get the book then. ;)

  • minchia, not minghia. Your brain is totally gone :)

  • @Mr1979Indy Potato, potato look at the video man, Nadia G knows! xo the Crew

  • @Mr1979Indy there are few ways, minghia it's used in the every day speech dialect, instead minchia is the "italianized" version ;P

  • Mingia butter - yuk!

  • Madeline Kahn, I swear I can see Madeline Kahn !

  • A thirty second Word-Of-The Day intro...lol

  • putanna, not you the 3 dislikes.

  • minchia..lol cu culu tinni inchia ahhahahhahaah ...scusa XD

  • Haha my family's Italian and my dad says this all the time. I'd never heard anyone say Nadia's Italian slang words outside of my family. He laughed so hard when I showed him this video XD

  • I have got to use this!!! But ya know what will be super funny as hell!! If someone else knows what I am saying!!! LMAO!!!

  • Nadia Giosia, do you personally answer on this site? My friend Lynn and I enjoy your Cooking Channel show immensely! "Bitchin' Kitchen" ROCKS! Lynn turned me onto "BK".

  • @amerocker Thanks for the love! Nadia checks in daily and answers what she can! We'll make sure to pass on the message for you! Rock on! xo BK Crew

  • this totally just cracked me up!

  • @Javi621 glad we got you hooked! Check out BK Wednesdays on Cooking Channel at 10:30PM EST (that's tomorrow!). xo Alex from BK

  • LOL I caught myself "mingia-ing" at frustrating people after a year with my Italian bf. The other day I overheard him cursing in Russian. We should not procreate.

  • @MsKopusha haha! Mingia, sounds like you have a real mesh of outspoken cultures on your hands! Rock on! xo Alex from BK

  • In El Salvador, they say "Puta" (whore), "Hijo de puta" (son of a whore), or "a la gran puta" (to the great/big whore. as if she sent misfortune your way, like the devil or something to that extent) when they stub their toe sort of thing, when something stupid happens or when you're very very upset. Lol my aunts, being mostly tomboys growing up, would say that a lot. I also heard " 'hue puta" as a quickly said version of "hijo de puta" lol

  • MInghia is the mot versitile of the Sicilian words: ex: Che minghia fai?!! or Minghia quand e bella! etc. etc. :o) Just saw the show here on The Cooking Channel . It Rocks!

  • The most memorable foreign phrase my grandfather said was after he would pretend to spit on both hands, rub them together, and slap one on the other loudly. Then he would say, "POW!...po dupie!", which means "POW!...the ass!" in Polish. He would say that when he was saying we're going to get our asses beat if we were misbehaving. I think his grandfather also would say that to him, though! :)

    I don't have any Italian relatives... :|

  • @krononomikon That's hilarious! Hope you didn't get into too much trouble...

  • @BitchinKitchenOnline So-so...but he was more of an "upright" type of guy than a "nice" guy if you know what I mean! :) He helped me (indirectly) learn how a hard teacher can also be a good teacher!

  • @krononomikon It's true! Those hard teachers were truly the best!! It seemed like the more fear you had towards a teacher, the more you learned. Who knew!

  • wow, i'll defiinitely be able to use this word in my next Italian conversation.

punyeto! (sorry wrong spelling - someone please correct)

  • it's female genitalia

  • scusami un attimo bitchinkitchen..ma tu sei italiana? figlia di italiani? i tuoi nonni erano italiani? scusami se te lo dico ma il tuo italiano lascia un pò a desiderare.. :D..

Comunque se mi vuoi chiedere il significato di qualche parola io sono disponibile, sono italiano, quindi ti puoi fidare.. ci sentiamo,ok?

  • "Minchia" not "mingia". It's meaning "penis"

  • Hey Sixred,

    Minchia, ai raggione!

Maybe you can help us define this one: Schiaccia Palle.

    XOBK

  • schiacciapalle. Synonymous: spaccapalle; rompipalle; rompicoglioni; scassacazzi; scassaminchia, etc.

In American: pain in the ass or Scraggler (undesiderable person)

  • LOL... fantisically done! My favorite is "rompicoglioni" my grandmother taught me that one at a early age!

We should totally have more suggestions for our Word of the Day series!!! What`s everyone`s favorite slang word?

  • @TheSixred That what I thought my parents are both Sicilian and I always pronounced it Mincha LOL and I was told not to say it but I do everytime I stubb my toe or things go wrong. My dad use to say it all the time too I miss him something ferice :(

  • lol. It was a little bit pitchy on word 2 :).

    Excellent!

  • Two things, lovin the hair and 2) possible singing career in the future!? :o

  • Nadia G loves to sing... lol seriously.

    XO Angelique & BK Crew

  • So can you say it and use it like"holly shit"?

    and love your show...you rock!

  • Yup... you pretty much can use the word for almost every expression...lol that's the beauty of it!

    xo Bk Crew

    XO Nadia G

  • Can it be used for stubbing your toe?
