  • JV's second solo was nice..

  • JLV is an actual link. He gets it. Someting few understand.

  • Yeah? Are you telling us what is between your ears? That would explain it then.

  • Jimmie Vaughan deserves his respect, and if the doubters on here cared so much for Jimmie's Kid brother Stevie they would realize how tough it is to lose a sibling especially, your kid brother. Can you imagine that? Prolly not unless you have walked in his shoes!!! He's a damn good guitar player and so is Stevie Ray. Music is made to make us happy not to fight over. They are both great but Jimmie's has so much class and so did Stevie. They both wanted the same things to make us smile!

  • so any of you experts doing the bagging play guitar? post your songs so we can hear how good you are.

  • solid gold shit!

  • Comment removed

  • Jimmie can play anything. He has proved it time and again. Little snippets here and there etc. To enjoy Jimmie is to relax and groove not wonder why he didn't toss off a solo. The guy is DEEP, he gets it.

  • Jimmy is playing his heart out! The blues is a total reality check! Awesome!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • if any of you haters knew anything you'd see that Jimmie is trying to play like Johnny 'Guitar' Watson(his early stuff) and he's nailing it perfectly

My hat's always off to my all time favorite JV

  • Pure crap

  • No where as good as Stevie Ray.

  • great show!Did they get payed tho???seems that Bishopstock had a hard time parting with their money!

  • You either get it, or you don't. I get it. I love it.

I recommend Hugh Gregory's or Art Tipaldi's Books on the subject.

  • it boils down to this 'secret' LESS IS MORE!!!!!!!

  • very cool video !!

  • Hello tonasse

You know, I vowed, about six months ago, not to respond to YouTube stuff again. your comment cannot go unanswered. First of all, that's a pretty terrible thing to say, 'God crashed the wrong helicopter'. I realise that you are free to say what you will and that's fine. So am I.

Secondly, think about the situation. Put two and two together and you may find it equals minus five...

  • yesterday night he gives a show in Paris, france absolutly fantastic, crazy and so cool! Graet succes in a small club called the new morning where the best of jazz man and blues man used to play during 50 years! A moment of magic!

  • I gotta say SRV was miles ahead.

  • hey all you opinionated gee-tar players, what's the best kind of capo? what's JV using here?

hope you can help me out, thanks! s

  • Funny, 'cause I'm usually the guy telling people just to enjoy or move on, music's not a contest or horse-race, etc. etc. BUT Jimmy sounds like a lazy, sputtering cliché fountain auditioning for this fine quartet.

I'm a keyboardist who doubles on guitar, and I could swear I could step in for Jimmy on this video and sound less boring (and bored). Oh, well....

  • @pyannaguy shows what piano players know about talented guitar playing.

  • @jukeking1 So, if I'm not misunderstanding you, are you sort of implying that, say, a really experienced, skilled guitar player might not be qualified to know a dynamite, accomplished piano player when he hears one?

I was a working bandleader for a lot of years, and a couple of times when we needed to change a guitar player, the other guys and I weren't in the dark about what a really skilled, versatile guitar player sounded like. Peace...

  • @pyannaguy Hey ,i'm not dissin you or what you've done. I CAN tell by your comments that you're not a deep blues player. Most musicians have your opine.

Well, world famous players of different instruments hold JLV as the Benchmark for a genuine deep blues player. Hell, even Muddy Waters said it when he visited Antone's.

White guys play a lotta notes real fast and think that's sayin' something. It doesn't.

You either hear the talent or not. I get it. 2 bad others are limited in their scope.

  • @jukeking1 Hi, Juke, For sure, no offense take and none intended, here, either. We're just chattin'. But, plenty of 'White guys' who can spit out notes like a machine gun, have and also exercise the option to play less-is-more and pump feeling into each slow note when that's what they're saying.

For ex: Ronnie Earl, in my opinion, is a Hell of a Blues player, and I guess we can call it different styles, but Ronnie can play like Jimmy V. - can we say the reverse for Jimmy? I'm not sure...

  • @pyannaguy Hi PG. I saw JLV for the 1st time in 1967. The Chessmen were the opener for Jimi hendrix at the Texas State Fair MusicHall. He was smokin' then, at 16 y.o., and considered one of the top players in Big D. He's so removed from the wanking of note flurries, now. But yes, he can cut heads with Horvath ..and Ronnie would loose the duel. Fortunately, JLV is so laid back that he doesn't indulge in such. Ck out the Dusk til Dawn vid in the side bar of this one, Dengue Woman Blues.

  • @pyannaguy Keep dreaming: your just another music reading wannabe critic who misses the whole point of this guys talents.

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER Actually, Bro, I made a good living (30 years) playing music, in every style. There's a lot of skilled, soulful players out there who don't necessarily get rich and famous. I'm only talking about JV on this particular jam and It's only my opinion, but I stand by it - his playing sounds predictable journeyman. Maybe he wasn't having a great day.

Bottom line - I know a great Blues guitarist when I hear one: Freddie King, Ronnie Earl, Robert Cray, Stevie Ray. This? So so

  • @pyannaguy I stand by my first statement.

  • Comment removed

  • @tonasse ASSHOLE !!

  • Jimmie is the epitomy of cool. And one heck of a guitarist in his own right.

  • Jimmie sounding his best 2:48 - 4:13.

  • Absolutely! I especially enjoyed the ending, you know, right at the end when it ended.

  • damn near as good as stevie was!

  • I've always loved what Mr. Vaughan has brought to the table, it was always an honor to open up for him.

  • 10 year after his brother has died

    i miss you stevie

  • Jimmie is great but that drummer is fucking terrible

  • George Rianes is a great drummer and if you cant understand that then you may need to get a better understanding of simplistic effectiveness. If he was that bad then he wouldnt be playing with Jimmy for all these years!!!

  • Danklin24-You may just be hearing bad sound quality on the drums cause he is playing the classic double pop in the pocket shuffle right where it should be.

  • Let me reach deep in my bag of blues tricks and tell y'all something get as many old fabulous thunderbirds stuff as you can get burn them off itunes and most of the doubters here would have their jaws on the floor to know that the same guitar player on here is the one tearing it up on those albums. Blues is form wha you feel inside, or better yet order a copy of antones on line and see where charlie sexton, says as fast as stevie was jimmie was that much slower and just as good!

  • i agree bijbmusic

  • Always loved Jimmie!

    For something different, Check out

BLUES BEFORE SUNRISE trailer or click on me

  • that's right dennycrain7,and add "What's The Word" to that-espaecially the 4th track "Extra Jimmies".Incredible.But something happened to him,he quit playing with a pic and I dunno what else, maybe just didn't sober up well like SRV and EC did.

  • wow he is so bad. hes playing out of the music book pentatonic scale licks thinkin hes a fuckin pro, not to mention the fact that his timing is off. only reason he is up on stage is cause of his brother plain and simple.

  • And what scale do you think BB, Albert King, or even Stevie played out of? His timing is laid back, its called rhythmic tension. In this his phrasing is really something you might hear from Albert Collins. Jimmie was also part of the Fabulous Thunderbirds when they were popular with "Tough Enuff" and "Wrap it Up" so he'd be up on stage even without the success of his brother, at least to the same extent as Duke Robillard, Kid Ramos, Nick Curran, Kirk Fletcher or Kim Wilson.

  • don't bother arguing with these guitar wankers, bluebmr6072. it's like trying to talk sense to a dog. you either listen to the blues from the inside out or you don't. these are the same tone deaf morons who don't understand thelonius monk. jimmie vaughan is like monk in terms of timing and phrasing, at least nowadays. but if these wankers want to learn, then they'll hear the real deal: they'll buy a copy of "girls go wild". that'll learn 'em but good and right quick-like.

  • Yeah that is a good comparison, Monk and what Jimmie is doing here. You can tell the whole band is locked in too with the pulse. Like you said inside out for sure.

  • @shanberg1 How's the wanking going there clueless?

  • To listen to Jimmie Vaughan just because you miss Stevie Ray is kind of like going to a Yoko Ono concert just because you can't see John Lennon anymore.

  • There is nothing special about Jimmie Vaughan, I would say that he is average at best. If he was really good it would be obvious and Jimmie's fans would not have to come up with excuses like "his tone", "his restraint", "his feeling" and any other crap like that to explain why he simply does not impress most people who watched this video. He does not have that sparkle, that "mystical" quality that good musicians have no matter the time or style of music.

  • @TheTSina For you and the legion of clueless who really struggle to comprehend real music: Once Jimmie Vaughan was the hottest contemporary rock guitarist in Texas-good enough to open for Jimi Hendrix. He played Cream-Hendrix and everything else note for note and flawless. Then one day as Buddy Guy said " He Met The Blues" Grew up found his own signature and learned what playing was all about. Sadly shit-heads like you never will make that transition.

  • @TheTSina Obviously little insignificant factors like "Tone" -"Restraint" and "Feel" escape you. At some point you will stop listening to the music and hear the music.

  • Jimmie Vaughan remember me to the old and great guitarrists in the past.

    I love him.

  • my favorite clip of all time.

  • jimmie's blues style

    i love it

  • come on guys, he's not very good

  • i agree. he never has been. everybody makes a big deal of him. i think he sucks... nowhere near as good as stevie was.

  • yeah man... not just stevie, anybody can play a lot better than him!! if his name was just "jimmi", he wouldn't be a hit even on youtube

  • you and people like you are the shallowest of human beings.

  • then you just don't know music at all, nuff said

  • put up or maybe you'd better shut up.

  • @LedZeplican Another of the Clueless minions who know shit about music.

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha your fuckin stupid bro... because i prefer srv or muddy waters or blind willie johnson or perhaps t-bone walker means that i know shit about music?? y dont you come talk to me when you have 4 albums and have played in over 40 gigs just in march alone.... fuck you

  • @LedZeplican I have seen a lot of shitty bands who play lots of gigs and know a hundred shit-piles like you who have cut records. It proves nothing: Go get a Strat named after you and a Grammy then talk shit you goddamned walking cumshot. You couldn't wipe the shit off Jimmie's asshole.

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER yah your totally right man... i've just had an epiphany... i totally suck.... AND on top of that i dont have have a strat named after me... OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO :((((... you are one ignorant son of a cunt... its interesting how you probably dont know a thing about guitar... or music in general for that matter, and you feel that you have the right to start a bullshit arguement on youtube... because you probably would be too pussy to start shit in real life, in person.

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER what the fuck ever happened to accepting differences in people... because i dont care for jimmie vaughn makes me an asshole?? i dont fuckin think so... you niggers always bitch and complain about how the white man did and still are fucking you over and how all you want is eqaulity and all that bullshit... and then you fuckers try to pull stunts like this... and then, to add to that you all wonder why you are getting no progress in that respect.

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER is this all you can think of to do in your disgrace you call a life? go onto youtube videos and start shit? because that is really fucking sad.... i posted my original comment over a year ago and then i get this random comment from you, the nigger, on a video i couldnt possibly have remembered viewing but until a few days ago when i was that unfortunate enough to have "met" you... pls just fuck off and find something better to do, or if you cant some1 else to try and fuck with

  • Comment removed

  • @LedZeplican By the way young faggot! I saw your top ten greatest guitarists list ...that says how little you know right there. One day you will grow up hang in there spunklick!

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER hahahaha you are really humorous... u niggers usually are... so fuckin stupid and it shows... thx for the laugh buddy... and u all wonder why everybody hates u people....

  • @LedZeplican Humerous? Like you weak ass Angus Young wannabe ass?? ROTFFLMBAO

"Rolling On The Fucking Floor Laughing My Black Ass Off"

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER was that supposed to prove a point?? my weak ass angus young wannabe ass?? uhmmmmmm like i said.... in u niggers the stupidity shows.... your really not insulting me with your "weak ass gangsta wannabe ass" go eat some fuckin watermelon or some shit you fuckin moron

  • @LedZeplican Ignorant cracker teenage bastard!

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER its really funny how the best things you can think of to insult me are "my weak ass angus young wannabe ass" and "ignorant cracker teenage bastard" haha get real shit-skin....

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER i cant fight the urge to fight back?? so what has this argument that has lasted for days called? a playful conversation of differences? i dont think so nigger thats exactly what i have been doing... your fucking stupid... you think because you have an orgasm every time JV plays a song makes u know shit about blues?? fuckin coons always so high on themselves... suck a fuckin dick u "fuckin prick"

  • Pure texas blue's, that's the real stuff. I love his style and the tone he get's wow! I dont think people know how good he is. No bass guitar player , the orgun player handle's the bass work. On some of bis cd's he use's male back up singer's. Nice thank's for the post.

  • Always loved the sound from a Leslie Cabinet...years ago I played with an Organist that used one...sat that thing pointed right at me at ear level (stage thing) ...dang I was trip'n on the sound of it.

Made you feel dizzy and sick by the end of the night :-(

But stage- front, man they sound great!

  • WTF?? I searched for Stevie Ray and it came up with this asshole???

  • Comment removed

  • he does suck. any guitar player with sufficient brain cells should know this

  • Yeah I agree with you there man.

I don't know why I wrote what I did but I removed it...it sure as hell wasn't what I was trying to say. Years ago in Austin the band I was in went and saw this guy at "The Armadillo World Headquarters" and man was it fucking bad ... worse than what your hearing here. At the time SRV was our rival in Austin. Of course I guess you know who won out :-)

Check out "Moses" on my channel it's at the same time period as SRV's early days in Austin, Texas

  • stevie ray vaughan: "I play probably 80 percent of what I can play. Jimmie plays one percent of what he knows. He can play anything."

  • It's becuase of Jimmie, that Stevie even touched a guitar - do your history!

  • @MisterMcMODRAY Really? I googled "Fucking Prick" and it took me right to you.

  • i stopped using a pick because of him and also Lurrie Bell and Albert King...insane tone!

  • Jimmie is THE REAL BLUES

  • One of the Best!

True Fans of SRV would see what Jimmie's playing for what it is and not compare him with his brother...Stevie was a one off and not even Jimmie will replace him..Jimmie is Jimmie and thats good, Traditional Player in the Lightnin hopkins mould. this is a great example of it.

  • here's the deal with guitar players who prefer srv-- most are wankers. when jlv was mentoring srv he would ridicule srv by comparing him to robin trower. the lesson?: play with restraint, use fewer notes/negative space to express yourself, and employ some forethought. most guitarists are wankers and to his credit srv absorbed the lessons of jlv just enough to not be just another blues guitar player. the bible for modern blues playing remains "girls go wild" by the fab t'birds.

  • @dennycrain7 - "'Girls Go Wild' is the bible for modern blues playing...'

You speak the truth! I've listened to that record literally thousands of times and could put it on again (and maybe i will) right now. It's up there with 'Jimmy Reed at Carnegie Hall' in that respect. I'm guessing virtually ALL the trash that feel they have to compare JV to SRV (who I love too) never heard 'Girls Go Wild' and wouldn't know what to make of it if they did.

  • @dennycrain7 Hahaha...well... I LOVE 'em both!!! I mean... they are essentially night and day...and that, to me... is a beautiful thing. Love 'em both. Hell... I've lost count of how many different and unique guitarists I enjoy. Variety... spice of life!! Cheers from Canada! ~KK

  • @dennycrain7 You're right! ""Girls Go Wild" is probably one of the top 5 blues albums of all times. Damn great album.

  • Jimmie Lee is was and will always be cool......look ma no pick....

  • that keyboard player ruins this song for me tbh

jimmie can play the guitar and he can sure play the blues!!!! but he sounds like a blues guitarist!! whereas SRV sounds unmistakably like SRV!! (and just better imo)

  • I could live without the second guitarist (not that he's bad) but the keys are half the point in Jimmie's latter day stuff... pre-Jimmy Smith organ style is the model here.

God this is some exquisite blues guitar, and what a tone. It's crazy how his style now is totally different to the T-Birds days. Love it.

You all should check out Gatemouth Brown's "Pressure Cooker" for killer stuff in a similar mold.

  • Losing the beat? He's playing behind the beat on purpose.

Those of you who equate blues with technical prowess better bone up on your music history. Blues and Yngwie couldn't be farther apart.

  • I love all these stupid comments. One thing is for sure; about every serious touring blues guitarist loves Jimmie Vaughan. People who have learned about the roots. He's got a signature fender fucking guitar, grammys.. he's a guest on albums by B.B king, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Eric Johnson, James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, Pinetop perkins, Lazy Lester and more. So just shut up about what you don't understand. He's a hard core bluesman. Period.

  • People who knows the blues loves Jimmie. He's got the blues, that's all.

He plays laid back, with soul and attitude (no, he doesn't screw up !!!).

His first fan was SRV, his little brother.

  • I saw Jimmie play at Michigan International Speedway for the car show back in 2006, and it was AMAZING! I didn't know he was going to be there, and it just blew my mind when I happened to walk by the car he had in the show, and heard his voice as soon as read his name on the tag in the car. I thought my head was playing tricks with me until I looked over to my right, and saw him standing there on stage. I still kick myself for not having anything for him to sign.

  • Jimmie rocks has soul and Bucky is a RE-tard.

  • I knew I was a man and no longer a boy when I began to prefer JV to SRV - think of it as yin & yang (or don't!)

  • very well put, roseaubrey.

  • The reason guys like Clapton dig Jimmie Vaughan is because he has unique style. IMO that's as important as anything. Guys that "play by the book" usually don't have anything interesting to say. I'll take Jimmie, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin etc over any hot shit player that does what thousands of others do.

  • You're entitled to your own opinion but I think we're all gonna jump ya

    because you called us blues-tards!

  • You have no friggin' clue. SRV was Jimmie's biggest fan. Do some reading or talk to anyone that knew/know them. Jimmie does less with more, maybe someday your lame ass will figure out what that means, until then keep your fucking trap shut boy!

  • hello, it's called swing ass-hole

  • This thought just came to me - Most guitarists think they're great. Come on it's true, most show humility and appreciation for others, but they couldn't begin to be proper showmen without a whole lot of confidence.

I'm kinda liking that some of the kids think they can play circles around Jimmie. It's the kind of young, dumb, and full of it, bravado that leads to things like the invention of rock & roll.

  • I like jimmie better

  • Happy Birthday Jimmie!

  • Jimmie is great and it doesn't matter if his brother was better, which is arguable.

  • Wow a truly fabulous performance by one of the true greats of the blues guitar. Rock on Jimmie!

  • jimmy vaughn sucks at guitar.... always in his brothers shadow

  • do you know who used to be Jimmies bigest fan?

if you giess Stephen Vaughan you have guessed right as far as Stevie concerned Jimmie was the best player to walk this earth....

  • Listen to the early Fabulous Thunderbirds albums and you'll hear Jimmy playing in a very different style, he seems to have a lot of Johnny 'Guitar' Watson influence these days. As a musician you have to play it as you feel it - imagine if Stevie had been told "you should be more jazzy with a cleaner sound" and had taken note of it! I like Jimmy's style however he plays it.

What I do want to know is, what's Gok Wan doing there on rhythm guitar?!

  • Listen to "Stang's Swang" from the Couldn't Stand The Weather album ;)

  • @storminthedistance Don't fret ! One day you'll hit "Musical Puberty" and come to the light like the rest of us.

  • I get the impression that many here have not heard Jimmie live up close like!!!

He is one of my favorite live players and

reeks the Blues with a passion paralleled by very few.

  • Jimmie was Stevie's hero as a kid.SRV said in an interveiw that Jimmie used to play just like Hendrix and then really dug into the blues thing.Jimmie refuses to play if he doesn't "feel" it,and really believes in the old maxim that what you "don't play" is just as important as what you "do".Dig it.

  • yea stevie said when he was an adult that jimmie was still his hero these men both deserve a great amount of respect

  • It's true that you shouldn't compare siblings when it comes to their own individual talents. Let us not forget that Jimmi gave SRV his first lesson. They are both good guitar players. One just achieved more in a short time and they both have their own style. Listen with an open mind..just cuz he's not SRV doesn't mean he isn't talented.

  • No matter how much life experience you have you will always be a cocksucking mummy who knows nothing about music. (even though I love stevie as much as JLV) goodbeye my lover

  • better or not, in my opinion no one sounds like Jimmie, he's a great guitar player with a unique style.

I've Never heard no one playing like him.

  • Music is not about being "better". I fear there's a real huge gang of people listening to music just for comparing it with the "better" ones and they won't stop. Just listen..

  • "Jimmie is decent and ok, but SRV is a god, icon and master of guitar.

A hige difference. Nobody compares to SRV."

How many times do you have to watch interviews to realize SRV didn't enjoy being held up as a God? If you love him so much, then respect his feelings and wishes. You're right nobody compares to him. But I'm damn near positive his brother never wanted to be compared to him and vice versa. Brothers don't like being compared. They're their own people.

  • Moron.

  • Fucking shit...that blows my mind. Don't try to compare with SRV, as good as he is he lacks the artistry of JV.

  • Jimmie Vaughan ...is an amazingly simple and heartfelt player ...when I say simple some of his licks arent ...he just doest clutter up the song or ever lose the feel ...if you could wind the clock back to chicago when Muddy and Wolf were playing this is what they would want it to sound like ...Jimmie used to be known as Freddie King Jr ..around TX ...and kudos to him for standing firm and making fender produce one of their best models and keeping it affordable ..that was jimmies call he da man

  • JIMMIE IM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS KEEP ON PLAYING THE BLUES YOU GOT IT ... AS YOUR BROTHER SAID and I quote STEVIE (his brother) "I can play 80 of what I play, Jimmie plays one percent of what he knows" CLAPTON "The first time I heard Jimmie Vaughan, I was impressed with the raw power of his sound. His style is unique, and if I've learned anything from him, it's to keep it simple."

Buddy Guy said "He's unbeatable when it comes to the blues. He just plays it like it's supposed to be played."

    FU HTRZ

  • Bill Willis smokin'! Huge. Fun to see how much Jimmie digs his band too. Soul power.

  • I have to say that jimmie is not a good guitarrist. He only do the basic things, he's very limited and he hasn't any feeling when is playing. Just my opinion.

  • He has a Fender and Gretsch signatures guitars and you NOT.

  • Quite right. And you can't trust somebody to know a good guitarist when they can't even spell it.

  • @Rickyzinho Yeah? Remind me to send you your "Two Cents" then because thats what your opinion is worth.

  • not cool man.

  • I can respect the fact that you don't like JV's style. Saying that he sucks is fightin' words to some of us, though. Perhaps growing up in S. Louisiana and hearing the type of music that he draws much of his inspiration from lends itself to a greater appreciation of what he does. It's OK if we disagree. BTW , no offense taken!

  • No feeling?...

Well, go watch some Hannah Montana vids, kid.

  • when i was 16 i took guitar lessons.the teacher had me learn "hideaway" by freddy king- clapton's version.the next several years i developed some good chops;what i did not develop enough was the ability to breathe and think while soloing. then when i heard "girls go wild" i experienced a paradigm shift. jlv uses his mind and his breathing to play-- controlling ones fingers requires great discipline.16 year olds can't understand this.most are as inept at playing the blues as they are at sex.

  • it's what all bluesmen (be it guitarists or singers or just people who listen to blues) tell other people... sometimes it's just acquired taste.

to all the haters, he has a fender signature tex-mex strat, even if he plays slower than SRV. and you DON'T.

  • Wow! There must be some awesome players who've watched this video since so many of them claim to be able to play circles around Jimmie. You may know some chords and how to string some notes together for a solo, but you can't learn restraint and feel. That's what Jimmie's got that most players can't understand.

  • Its called phrasing and jv has got it. He may not be a Randy Rhoads but he is a legend and deserves respect. His signature strat for the price is superb. Its also set up by his own specs from the factory.

  • Amen! Talmoncus.

  • How much shit is in your brains? Even Stevie was smart enough to rip off his big brother.

Jimmie is the real deal no smoke and mirrors just straight groovin blues. Lets see you post some vid of your shitty chops bitch!

  • Do you ever listen to Johnny Guitar Watson?, Clarence Gatemouth Brown? Guitar Slim? I don't believe so. This style is very hard to approach. To lay down phrases like Jimmie does is just as hard as bending and screaming. There are different ways to play the blues you know. Jimmie was knocking about with Freddie King, Hendrix etc. years before SRV got recognition. Instead of posting lot's of bull, try to understand it.

  • AMEN!

  • If you don't appreciate his playing that's one thing, but there are some of who respect him for what he does. His playing is all about tone and control versus the flash and dazzle of SRV. The fact that they are brothers is about all they have in common.

  • you know why Jimmie got Jimi hendrix's wha wha? because Jimi liked Jimmie Vaughan's playing

what the hell does that say?

  • You really have to have a seasoned taste to truly appreciate the stratospheric greatness of Jimmie Vaughn.

  • He has a great jazz voice in him. He has more potential for that than being a blues man. I RESPECT him for everything he's done so far though!

  • I really can't understand why he's so"famous".....the president of my Music School plays 10 times better than Jimmie Vaughan.......i am 16 and I think that in a few years I will play better than this........in my opinion JV plays simple things but he hasn't got enough feeling to be considered a Star....he plays like a child who's just learned the basic blues licks in an instructional video

  • I couldn't agree more, i think jimmie sucks compared to stevie, so far, out of everything I have heard him play ever, I can play, and better. i am also 16.

  • Fuck off mate

  • I dont think you two little twats understand that with out this guy JIMMIE ... STEVIE wouldn't exist and it doesnt matter Jimmie is a better guitarist than you two twats will ever be in your lives ... hes got the old 50's chicago groove going something you little shits will never connect to

  • Childs opinion. LOL.

  • Let me see if I can help some of you critics out. You say Jimmie sucks. Could it be that his playing simply doesn't connect with you emotionally? Could it be that as youngsters you are still dazzled by flash rather than feel? From your comments, I'd say that is probably true. There are lots of famous players who don't move me, but I wouldn't say they can't play. Remember, one man's trash is another man's treasure. I've seen JV many times in 20 yrs and there are few who can come close to him.

  • Jimmie plays in a style I'd call 'elementary' - and that's being kind. Something I'd expect at an open mic on a slow night.

  • Please..

  • I think it's great stuff.
