maul did survive. In the expanded universe he returns to confront kenobi. His lower body is replaced with mechanical legs and his horns have grown to be much larger however it is maul. Kenobi beats him again and manages to protect luke. IN my opinion Maul had his chance if he had killed kenobi outright instead of toying with him he would have been alive. instead he had to face kenobi again after kenobi had become far more powerful.

Count Dooku's lightsaber was curved because he was the best lightsaber duelist in ep1, 2 and 3. He designed the curved style because it gave him a huge advantage over other lightsaber practitioners, try using a curved stick in real against an ordinary straight one and you will see what I mean, they will have problems timing and countering your attacks because it is curved... coming up slower when you swing or faster when you swing down.
at 0.51 lame move obi-he simply hitted the air and mal blocked the air attack-btw maul could simply hit with other side of ligtsaber obi from the back there...
Maul wasn't really better than qui gonn. he had to use that cheap shot to win the fight. if you read the book it says that if maul hadn't done that strike when he did qui gonn would have struck the killing blow.. The only reason it was a close fight at all was because qui gon was getting on in years and no longer had the endurance his lightsaber form requires. He was seriously known as one of the best duelists in the Jedi order. Qui gonn in his prime=Maul Owned
If you read one of the books Maul was winning the entire fight.

Maul Is just a Sith Aprentice true but Qui Gon knew Maul was better than him. Praetar is right about obi Wan loseing self control when he sees Qui Gon go down.
Kenobi however used the lightside to propel himself over maul and end the fight.
maul dosent actually die when obi wan slices him in half. he's rebuilt with robotic legs and he starts hunting obi wan. then he finds him on tatooine, fights him, then uncle owen shoots him in the back.

About Kenobi playing his strategy better I have too disagree Kenobi saw his Master go down and slipped into a rage charged Maul head on, Maul nevertheless wanted this, he blocked Kenobi then spun around giving him the advantage and then knocked Kenobi over the edge while Kenobi is now trying to regain a foothold.Kenobi senses his Master is still alive if only barley propels himself up over Maul calling his masters fallen saber too him landing he slashes Maul in half before Maul can react.
Maul would have won if he had not underestimated Kenobi. I meen dude Maul was raised from Childhood on a light saber killing murdering and training under Darth Sidius, He was more experienced and battle hardened.
If this had been been a fight without the Force Maul would have won utterly. He just made the mistake so many sith make in the Star Wars universe...He gave his enemy a chance.

Oh, and as any good sports fan knows, if you can't finish, you don't deserve to win. Maul didn't finish, and he failed. Obi-Wan flat beat him, because he played his strategies better, in the end. Maul wasn't really better than qui gonn. he had to use that cheap shot to win the fight. if you read the book it says that if maul hadn't done that strike when he did qui gonn would have struck the killing blow.. The only reason it was a close fight at all was because qui gon was getting on in years and no longer had the endurance his lightsaber form requires. He was seriously known as one of the best duelists in the Jedi order. Qui gonn in his prime=Maul Owned

If you read one of the books Maul was winning the entire fight.
I like Obi Wan but he barley won the fight.
Maul Is just a Sith Aprentice true but Qui Gon knew Maul was better than him. Praetar is right about obi Wan loseing self control when he sees Qui Gon go down.
Kenobi however used the lightside to propel himself over maul and end the fight.

maul dosent actually die when obi wan slices him in half. he's rebuilt with robotic legs and he starts hunting obi wan. then he finds him on tatooine, fights him, then uncle owen shoots him in the back.

Ok, let me set this straight, the whole robotic maul was a comic that didn't follow the actual star wars storyline, and as for his fight with Vader, same story only it was a clone of Maul.

if any of you read the books then you know that maul was playing with him feeding on his fear/dought. and about the saber fights, the force guides the saber to block/attack hince whoevers more powerful in the force will win the fight.

About Kenobi playing his strategy better I have too disagree Kenobi saw his Master go down and slipped into a rage charged Maul head on, Maul nevertheless wanted this, he blocked Kenobi then spun around giving him the advantage and then knocked Kenobi over the edge while Kenobi is now trying to regain a foothold.Kenobi senses his Master is still alive if only barley propels himself up over Maul calling his masters fallen saber too him landing he slashes Maul in half before Maul can react.

Maul would have won if he had not underestimated Kenobi. I meen dude Maul was raised from Childhood on a light saber killing murdering and training under Darth Sidius, He was more experienced and battle hardened.
If this had been been a fight without the Force Maul would have won utterly. He just made the mistake so many sith make in the Star Wars universe...He gave his enemy a chance.
No I am not a StarWars fanatic I just know my info.

Obi Wan fell into a rage after Qui Gon fell. Since he's a jedi he had no training to use it. Thus he was vulnerable during his anger, and Maul used that moment of vulnerability to shove him over the side with a push.

and obi wan has to die in episode 4 thats why
lucas just forced maul to let him be killed by obi wan but in real life maul had owned.

Umm, in real life, "Darth Maul" didn't exist. Lucas created Maul and he created the Jedi, so he didn't force anybody to do anything. Oh, and as any good sports fan knows, if you can't finish, you don't deserve to win. Maul didn't finish, and he failed. Obi-Wan flat beat him, because he played his strategies better, in the end. And yeah, cause it was in the script . . . .

tipan1000 maul was not a master sith (dark lord of the sith) he was an apprentice and obi wan had exceptional skills like anakin or even better because he had such a knowledge of the force that could not release the anger but use it against the enemy...
thats why i dont think strange obi wan kill maul.
oh and by the way the weakness of the dark side is the anger and hate against themself.

maul had killed qui-gon and had beaten
obi-wan down into the pit. maul could have killed obi-wan after he was beated with a simple saber throw; but the sith did not.
maul taunted obi-wan and teased him with his power.
obi-wan - the apprentice - in his killing maul - the sith lord - shows that the weakness in the power of the dark side: the rage and extravagance of the sith teknique will destroy the owner.

i think it´s kind a wierd that Obi-wan kan kill a master sith with double lightsaber easly well not so easy but anyway he can kill Darth Maul whom was trained by Sidious but not Dooku whom was trained by... erhm i think Yoda and not even Yoda can beat him but then Anakin go and cut his head of with a simple move kinda lame if you ask me

He Didnt push Anakin in the lava because Obi wan said "You were my brother Anakin! And I loved you!" now ask yourself, would you push your brother in lava? Obi wan thought that he would die... not that the emperor would come find him and rebuild him.

if my brother was a potential threat and there was no way to redeem him. I would but the emperor would simply get a new apprentice. That being said from the coldness of doing that I would prolly end up being recruited as the new apprentice.
