  • Hola Profesor, Solo hablo un poco espanol. Yo soy una estudiante. I have problemos with my accent, to sound more espanol. mas que nada, rolling my r and rr. it never comes out right.

    gracias, Alicia

  • I see that you pronounce the letter C as an S sound. However I was under the impression that in Spain at least it has a T sound. Such as Cinco would be pronounced (Th)inco?

  • professor,

how do you say an appointment in spanish? You have an appoinment on Monday, July 5th at 10am?

  • @yvonnewongdds tengo una CITA el lunes...

  • Thanks Professor for posting this! I'm working to learn Spanish and appreciate the assistance.

  • I know Spanish, and I'm just now learning Portugese :) Is this how you ask how old are you: Cuantos anos hace temp?

  • If you want someone to speak slowly could you say lento?

  • I am trying to learn to count back to customers in spanish, can you make a video counting in 10's and in 20's in spanish to 1000? Please :)

  • Es muy fácil aprender español, suerte!:)

  • Hola! How to say:" Please have or take a seat" (formal)?

    Thanks

  • @moh459 Siéntese (formal) or siéntate (rather for young people or for a friend)

  • @elyeye66 Muchas gracias :-)

  • @elyeye66 Muchas gracias :-)

Can we also say:"por favor tome asiento"??

  • @moh459 Yes, in fact what i said "siéntese" sounds a little bit rude..It's much better what you say now "Por favor tome asiento".It's just perfect. You don't have to thank me at all.

  • I am trying to learn basic spanish, and your videos are brilliant. Great job and thanks!!

  • excellent video. Has anyone ever told you that you look a lot like jason sudeikis from saturday night live? I think so

  • Give me your address there!!

  • Professor Jason,

I really appreciate your work here.

I was wondering if you could prepare a course in Spanish to start from elementary level to intermediate or more.

Once again, thank you for these amazing videos!

  • THNAK YOU, BUT this is why Americans are so behind in Spanish. They need INTENSIVE SPANISH, not basic. This video is GREAT, but its very basic, which is why its called survival, but unfortunately this DOES NOT CUT IT to get a job. Many jobs wants you to be 100% fluent!!!!!

  • mucho gracias

  • @moh459

    'muchas' gracias.

  • Chicken in Spanish is "pollo"

  • Yes, you speak spanish very well, but maybe so formal, but it's good

  • Why wouldn't you use puedes instead of puede when saying "can you write that down?"

  • You could use puedes, it's just more polite/formal to say (Usted) puede; either is correct

  • Aah, yeah I see. Thank you very much.

  • @languagenow podes :)

  • and me thought me only tries to learn a language through these survival phrases.

when i was trying to learn of the Indian language Telugu, I started with survival Phrases only. :)

  • Professor Jason:

I really appreciate the kindness in your voice when teaching us. It makes it a lot easier and natural to learn. There is no humiliation at all. I am 32 years old and am just beginning my very first spanish class. So thank you very much for all your help :) Buenas tardes :)

    Nicole M. Hastings

  • Hola, I am a native Spanish speaker and I wanted to tell you that your Spanish is great. Tienes un muy buen acento y hablas con perfecta claridad. Thank you for posting this video. I want to be a Spanish teacher myself. Diana

  • thank you !

i speak portuguese, so for me it's really easy ! Muchas gracias !

  • you are the best professor

  • you are one of the people that truely belong on youtube, muchas gracias

  • just the job thanks

  • very helpful, thank you!

  • I agree even though he may not speak the language with a dead on spanish accent so what he is american and he trying to help others and many people do not apreciate that, americans don't Critisize spanish speakers when they can say rope, rat, rug or any word that they cannot pronounce because we know english is not your orginal language

  • Instead of fixing pro. Jason pronounciation and spelling, spend some time to post your own spanish lessons videos than say it is better to say that. It is always easy to criticize but its more difficult to bring something better. go ahead Professor you are doing a very good job.

  • thanks a lot yasamih! i need all the encouragement i can get, i appreciate your positive comments on my videos, muchas gracias!

  • hi profesor, gracias por este video, estoy aprendiendo mucho con estos, haces un bien trabajo. gracias .thak you a lot.

  • @acere1

    'haces un BUEN trabajo'.

  • gracias from Korea!

  • Hey Andrew is right. White boys cant speak spanish and they try to speak it to proper and shit which gives a horrible accent.

  • so you'd like to hear an auzzie accent with spanish words?

okay then.. and good luck in understanding...

  • where is the origin of spanish, latin america that adapted spanish or spain that spread spanish all over south america? comon guys stop saying that white guys don't speak spanish, because the real spanish people are whites. ahahaahaha

  • @yasamih

    cualquiera lo tuyo.

  • I am a Black American and my native language is English and i started learning spanish when i was 15 and i am still 15 soon to be 16 and i can speak basic fluent spanish probaly not liek a native for the fact i just started but i can do basic communications such as time, dates, numbers, days of the weeks and alot of verbs

  • Great video, this is really helping me. I know textbook spanish but a lot of this is new to me. What's the difference between repetirlo and repita?

  • repita, sounds more like an order, to me : 'repita', por favor !(in most latin countries) .-'repeat' ,please!(like coming from a teacher)..however ,puede 'repetirlo' ,por favor! ,sounds more kind/charm/good manners..well you'll get the idea !.-can you 'repeat' that please!,.. bare in mind that spanish words sometimes have different..'meaning' in relation to the 'context' of situations or what is being say before the 'word' ..(geez!)

  • Literally, repetirlo = to repeat IT, and repita = direct formal command "repeat!"

however, "Repeat it," (as a command), would be Repitalo (polite) or Repitelo (informal).

  • can you post a lesson on everyday conversation with friends and co-worker?

  • Many thanks for the lessons, YOU ARE A BIG HELP ! :D Gracias.

  • Thankyou Sir!!! :D Your video is indeedvery helpful! Very helpful subtutle too! :)

  • he speaks really good spanish, almost no accent at all so he can teach really good!

  • When you said "I only speak a little Spanish" "Solo hablo un poco d espanol"---> you really should use un poquito-- un poco normally means "a few"-- in any case-- it sounds a bit funny. Its better to say "solo hablo un poquito (d espanol)"

  • @TreaNesIadi

poquito es gracioso. poco me suena mejor. significa lo mismo, en cualquier caso, esta bien.

  • this is great thanks!!!

  • hey your great, please post some more videos por favor, im really learning your a great teacher

  • your video's are really helpful, thank you

  • mira gatitabriannita si qe usas el te o el se porqe podes desir se te cayo la cartera. Y vendingbone es Hasta mañana. no asta manana

  • Que idiota...jajaja NO es "desir" ES "Decir" con "C" Criticas cuando tienes mas cola que te pisen..jajaja

  • Jajaja..Tengo solo 15 anos.Debes crear un video cuando hablas solo en espanol con un amigo asi puedo escuchar y aprender mas palabras casuales. En la escuela, me ensena vocabulario que no necesito saber a hablar con amigos y otras personas. I dont get what to do when you me,te,se,etc before or after a word (reciprocal) but b4 it have a verb that is conjugated. Do u not conjugate it cause you only conjugate the first verb, or not conjugate it? how do you know when to use ti and when you use tu?

  • how do you know when to use ti and when you use tu?
