Dark Prophecy was canceled because Eidos changed their minds before the game left pre-production. They decided it wasn't a franchise they felt would succeed and withdrew all their funding from Crystal. Instead it continued funding them for more Tomb Raider games.

The heart removed from Kain is NOT his own, but Janos's Auldron's heart, AKA The Heart Of Darkness.

Playing out the game shown in the video alone reveals that in the meeting with the necromancer prior to the fight. Kain's heart wasn't removed but Janos's to revive Janos. There are no DEMONS in the game, merely Hylden, and Kain is vampire, solely vampire, not demon nor Hylden.

He doesn't die, lol. Those in that church worship the "Unspoken" or the Hylden. The portal in the church leads to their realm, and after the second heart, Jano's Aldren's heart is ripped from his chest by Raziel, he is kicked into the portal.

He wakes up surrounded by the Hylden (which are referred to Demons by humans throughout the series) kills them, escapes and goes to the vampire citadel after Raziel.

actualy other vampires would die from from that. And the other balance guardians could also be killed. Kain killed al the other guardians. In fact kain could have chosen death to restore the balance. Then the role of balance guardian would have been passed to another. But didn't coz he was the last vampire and they couldn't be allowed to go extinkt (blood omen 1)
