  • where's my jewish doctor in residency at Lee Memorial Hospital Ft Myers now?

  • This reminds me of Salzedo's, "Song in the Night".

  • .Hi David, I am just learning the harp myself and love it.Today, I was feeling really down and the angels sent your playing to me. It changed my whole state of being and the beauty of the sound you created on your harp brought peace, joy and harmony at a moment, I thought could not change. Thank you. Thank you very much

  • What key's this in? It sounds astronomical.

  • Hello David Michael.... My name is David Michael. I would like to say that is good music to my ears. Thank you.

  • David? Thank you this is beautiful! what key are you in? Which levers set to which notes?

    Great song!

    God bless

    Catherine

  • Thats Amazing!!!!

  • my name is davidmichael 2

  • YOU PLAY AMAZINGLY WELL and have a GREAT technique. You are the reason why I want to make sure I spend a lot of time teaching myself. I notice that most "classically trained" pedal harp teachers just make the most pedantic and methodical compositions. They also play like robots. You see how your playing POPS and ZINGS!, its because you found your own technique.

  • Inspired

    Andy

  • This is awesome! Love it!!!

  • Hi David

would you consider giving lessons I am starting out and really feel this is the way I would love to go.

    many thanks

    Ruth

  • I play the harp and I want it to sound like a harp... but very interesting technique, like it!

  • Very unique & nice! Question: is your harp tuned differently than other harps? Is that what you meant by pentatonic? A curious harper would like to know :-)

  • Wow that was cool!

  • Now that´s cool ^-^

  • I've just had to buy this from iTunes... It's a great piece of music!

  • i love 0:56 to 1:37--beautiful guitar sound with the bright resonance and warm tone of a harp. man this really inspires me to improvise when i get a harp. do you strum with your finger and thumb? and do you just strum on any string around that area or is it a defined area like C - G type thing? that really is cool you are awesome

    WOOT TO MALE HARPISTS!

  • I'm really just strumming with my first finger mostly. Yes I do use my thumb too. I grow nails on my right hand and my left hand thumb. I do strum in certain areas intentionally to create various effects. The important point is that I'm playing pentatonically ... switching to a Lydian 4th where you see me move the lever.

  • Hahaha... I saw this sometime ago before I bought my harp. I tried playing like this on mine. It didn't work out ]: it obviously takes practice!

  • You compose beautifully. I was sad to hear recently of your ordeal with the ferry system. My family and I discovered you on such a ferry ride to Port Townsend, and I fell asleep numerous times to Isle of Winds. Hope to see you on ferries again soon, and thanks for many years of great music.

  • WOW great!!

  • Wow! I love it!

I'm deciding on a harp to buy to teach myself!

  • @songpidgeon Yes, this video and technique are inspiring and lots of fun! If you'd be interested in taking harp lessons online, get in touch with me at thevirtualharp@gmail.com.

  • wow!!! that's really creative!!! I love it!!!

  • Marvelous---it sounds like two instruments are being played---and it does sound kind of like a Chinese tune!

  • HA thats awesome (adds to playlist)

  • Very interesting method of playing the harp. I really like it. If you don't mind me saying so, the sound reminds of me of some Chinese tunes.

  • Wow, it's great. Guitar struming on Celtic Harp

  • Great to see and hear you play that way on the harp.

  • Amazing!

  • Awesome, I loved it... how do you do it? Do you use a thumb? Do you hit the harp in a specific number of strings every time? or is it just an area? I'm sorry I know this is supposed to be your technique... but I would really love to understand it...

  • It sounds like " HARP HAPPINESS GONE WILD"...I love that! ;)

  • Wow! This is TOTALLY AWESOME!

I am in the process of learning the harp, would LOVE to be able to play like this.

    Very innovative!

  • Very cool. Dancing with the strings is a nice effect, and brings the harp into a new place. Thank you.

  • What a pleasure that is to listen to! Thanks, from an expatriated Washingtonian.

  • AT LAST! A folk harpist who actually has rhythm. Excellent pulse, excellent finger technique and nice clear rhythmical articulation. A lesson to all those celtic harpists who tend to play with faltering tempo and wishy washy rhythm. This has a LIFE to it. Thank you for a rare treat. Beautifully played with real style.

  • wow! i like it very much, both concept and execution :D

  • its really cool sound

  • this is amazing. what a joy for ears and eyes! Thank you for this video!

Besides who bulit your harp? Greetings from Germany.

  • David, we can't wait for you to play at our wedding this summer! You are amazing and we miss listening to you on the ferry.

  • it is so sweet...Interesting technic...

    :)

  • wow!!!! BRAVISSIMO!!!

    congratulations from ITALY

  • beautiful, exelent..bravo!!

the harp music must to be sweet and suave...honey to hear

  • as a matter of fact from 2:09 to 2:15 u pluck a scale closer to that of a North Indian Raaga (can't sort that out at the moment: either "Boopaali" / "Maalkauns") and the way you sort of crescendo up and down the octaves is very much characteristic of the North Indian Classical Music.

  • bravo! bravo! bravo! that is absolutely smashing. and strange enough i find your piece very close to that of the indian subcontinent.

but that is absolutely gorgeuos and full of life and joy.

  • the best iv ever heard

  • thats nice

  • WOW! I am totally going to take your technique into mind. I admire that. Great playing!

  • Great video, after this I think I'll leave the guitar and learn the harp:)

  • From ferries to gardens....BLISS!
