Absolutely TRAGIC that the under-60 crowd finds it so important to put Mall_Musak-Rock into EVERYTHING. I also agree that the Spit sounded MUCH better than the P-51----after all, they had IDENTICAL ENGINES. Gawd, am I glad I'm over 65!

Spitfire /Mustang= same engine...My favorite aircraft sound are the Bell P63 Kingcobra , the Hawker Tempest/Typhoon (Napier Sabre 24cyl in H) and the Hawker Fury (improved Tempest) with 18cyl radial valveless Bristol centaurus (was the fastest propeller aircraft from WW2).

Is there ANY way to get rid of the stupid music and the even stupider commentary. This video as touted as the "BEST sounding Mustang EVER" and it's mostly cluttered up with everything BUT the Mustang. Best is actually in Rock Hudson's "Battle Hymn". Real planes, real flying and UNIMPEDED sound!

The sound of one firing up that Merlin and the smell of the first puff of smoke is way more addicting than crack !! I grew up going to Rockford then Oshkosh ( which is the greatest airshow IN THE WORLD !!!! ) and loved working the flight line and hearing all the stories the old WW II pilots would tell around the tables some nights. Never been there your depriving your self of one heck of a party !!!!!
