  • I happened to tape this back when I was in high school and erased it accidentally a year or so later...it's so great to find it again. What an amazing artist that young girl is. Looking forward to youtubing her now that I know her name again. Thanks for uploading.

  • A beautiful performance. However, I still prefer Kristin Chenoweth's rendition.

  • i love you desiree so much you are still the best just saw her last night in nyc free concert for the princess foundation

  • SHE´S REALLY GREAT

BUT I DONT LIKE HER JOYFUL VERSION

  • I STILL enjoy hearing Desiree sing ... even this. Her voice is so sweet and precious ... like a dove you might hold gently in the palm of your hand. Adoraable.

And the high pitches she rings thrill me ....I want to hear her over and over.

  • "The WHOLE Christian Bible was derived from the sacred books of Egypt, such as:

THE BOOK OF THE DEAD, THE PYRAMID TEXTS, AND THE BOOKS OF THOTH." EA Wallace Budge (Keeper of the Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities at the British Museum)

  • @SuperAlwaysright you know that Budge's transliterations and translations are completely discredited? And that if anything at all, it would be the Hebrew Bible that is derived from Egyptian books... since the New Testament was written way after?

how does it feel to be unbearably stupid?? lol

  • one again sit down and kick rocks girl, i know who i am ask somebody, a spelling error is ok a miserable queen who hates people is so last century! juilliard ok...fuck off. google me and i can google you and see what 0

  • Will someone please tell this girl that she can't sing! I'm convinced that Patti has gone deaf. That's the only reason she could possibly continue putting her out there. She's a beautiful young lady, but she simply can't sing. She has no control. A great range means nothing without the ability to use it properly. Ms. Coleman always sounds like she's in pain. And if she's not, we certainly are! Please, no more!!!!!!!! Send her to Iraq and let her sing in the front lines or something.

  • So catty. I guarantee u are either a bitter church queen and/or a fat, ugly, failed singer.

  • Though I do go to church regularly, I'm no queen and I'm far from fat. I did sing in college, but realized it wasn't my true gift so I didn't pursue it. I'm just a person with perfect pitch. I find it amusing that you're so offended by my comments. You must be related to Ms. Coleman. If that is the case, I understand and admire your need to defend her. I'm curious, have you listened to her rendition of The Greatest Love of All? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

  • I knew it. Only a regular church goer would be vicious enough to type "Send her to Iraq and let her sing in the front lines or something".

Your hyprocrisy doesn't offend me, it just affirms what I believe about church goers. No one else would have 4-5 videos of a singer they hated so much in their Favorites except a hypocritical church queen.

    NO ONE ELSE.

  • Wow, you're really hung up on this church queen thing, huh? When you get time, check out Desiree's rendition of The Greatest Love of All. You've probably already seen it. Just wondering if you still dispute the fact that she has pitch issues in that trainwreck of a performance.

  • If it's such a trainwreck why did u Favorite it?

  • (sigh) Ovbiously you don't underswtand that marking something as a favorite has nothing to do with assessing quality. But, let's move on. It seems that I've offended a few of Ms. Coleman Jackson's fans with my comments regarding some of her performances. I APOLOGIZE...sincerely! While I stand by my opinions, I admit I may have been too harsh. I hope all who were offended, including you Stuyone, will accept my apology. Peace.

  • @GospelAccording2ME

What a HATEFUL commentary by someone who would put "Gospel" in their name!

And, Ms. Coleman, being so beautifully taleneted and loved by "most" who hear her (including Ms. Labelle), certainly does not deserve the venom you drop in your wake. I LOVE high vocals. But, I appreciate other than that. You should expand your mind as well. Very narrow you are.

May God touch your hate-filled heart.

  • @ I've gotten a steady stream of responses posted here and sent to my private mailbox...some agree with my comments, some think they were funny, and some have scolded me for being too hateful. Shortly after posting my comments, I publicly apologized. Though I may have been too extreme, I stand by my opinion regarding this performance. I'm not disputing that she's a beautiful lady of class and grace, but this was not a very good performance in my opinion. I appreciate your comments.

  • @GospelAccording2ME

Perhaps a comment about your opinion of the performance instead of personal attack against Ms. Coleman would have been more appropriate if you had to make it know. What happened to the "Christian" adage, "if you don't have something good to say ..."?

  • @IsleyTribute

The apology is good. But, me? I would have removed my comment, when I looked back on how extreme it was.

What I just don't get. though, is how someone alluding to being one of the Gospel could spew such vitrole. {shrug} Sorry ...

  • @stuyone

All church members aren't as you suggest. GospelAccordingToMe's attitude is a bad example for a human being to display, much less a Christian.

Take, for example, Desiree is a Christian, and she hs a beautiful attitude. Not only that, she acts on her convictions as a Christian, even to the point it hindered a fast-tracked R&B career.

  • @stuyone that's great, generalize all church going Christians based off a comment you read.... on YOUTUBE. you're the hypocrite, and also, rather stupid.

  • @Shanniquitie Lemme guess: You're a "church going Christian" right? I'm sure it's very Christ like to call someone stupid. You proved my point.

  • @stuyone go to hell you pompous prick. I'm just an honest observer and i'm not taking your patronizing crap. You have no point, other than to show that some people are prejudiced and bitter (that's you btw) - you disgust me.

  • @Shanniquitie You psuedo-religious psycho. U are classic proof that there ain't no God so long as people like you walk the earth.

  • @stuyone yeah yeah, i might listen to your criticism but because youre so utterly stupid....theyre meaningless. people like you are proof there is a God, because only a merciful creator could lovingly sustain such crushingly awful idiocy. you dumb, bitch. lol

  • @stuyone So regular church goers are "vicious" and "hypocrites" because of what one idiot on youtube said?

From what I have read, it seems that you are the vicious one. I will pray for you.

  • Thats funny.I first saw her on the motown merry christmas like 20 years ago and I was really pleased on her singing on there.I had never untill today heard her sing anything else. Now I know why she didnt get real big!She knew to marry into some money because thats the only way that she could have made it, or maybe she could have pushed up her tits and showed some skin as many do to make some money.

  • @darkebony

That she did not parade her body for the king and queen-makers of the secular music world is very likely why she did not get as much recognition as she deserved.

People who cannot hear the beauty of some singers range that exceed your understanding are like someone color-blind or lacking one of their senses. I pity you.

  • @IsleyTribute Hey dont hate on me hate the game because she was and is a great tallent,Stacy lattisaw had the same problem she didnt want to show some skin and lets be real thats just what sells records today like it or not.If she had her tits out she would have been a house hold name but alot of people still dont know sho she is!

  • you are a fat church sissyfied old college want to be, i went to julliard and she can sang bitch sit down.....

  • ROFLMAO If you had truly gone to Juilliard, you'd know how to spell it. Thanks for the laugh.

  • Desiree Coleman! I forgot about her. She had an amazing voice and looks. I wonder why she was never a household name. No disrespec becuase she has a name, but listening to her makes me wonder why she didn't blow up. It is good to see this clip.

  • @kpitt1204

I've often wondered the same thing, myself ... she deserved MUCH recognition. She probably turned down one too many producers who wanted her to display more than her God-gifted talent.

  • Get it Dez!

  • when was this performance?

  • omg she was at the pops i miss evrything

  • Great! Pls pls if u have Patti Labelle singing tears in heaven and somewhere post it, oh my God those perfomances are untouchable.
