Trent is a fairly average singer. His talent has always been in writing and production. Lyrically Nine Inch Nails has always been kind of corny and vocally nothing special. I like the dynamic he has with Mariqueen, her voice suits the mood of the songs. Nine Inch Nails was starting to sound stale and I think HTDA changed things up for the better.

Going to see the movie again, still can't believe what they said about Jewish women considering Trent is a jew. Very anti-semitic and suprise no one said anything wrong with that.

I've remixed NIN and one thing sticks - always simple tunes but approached from an odd angle. It's his sounds that get attention but he's quite similar to the misunderstood Philip Glass.

Trent is a fairly average singer. His talent has always been in writing and production. Lyrically Nine Inch Nails has always been kind of corny and vocally nothing special. I like the dynamic he has with Mariqueen, her voice suits the mood of the songs. Nine Inch Nails was starting to sound stale and I think HTDA changed things up for the better.

I think (after leaving it and listening again) that this is a beautiful sad track, her vocals work because of the lyrics - it needs to sound strained - but thats in my opinion.
If I had no idea that Trent (NIN) was involved in this then yes I would say it sounds like NIN but its fresh, new & interesting because of her vocals (& other sounds), her vocal sound reminds me of Cia Berg from Whale.

People started booing and ewwing when the music came on during Social Network. Didn't know it was 9 inch nails. The music did not go with the movie. Though the movie is not bad, it suprised me Reznor finally came out of the closet as a Jewish man and his relationship with that man. The movie flowed but it was wrong how they said bad things about Jewish women and them not being hot, so they rather go for a group of hot Asians.

She has a pretty voice from what I've heard and of course the music is amazing as all of Trent's stuff is. I'm glad he's found someone who can pour her heart into music with him. I've remixed NIN and one thing sticks - always simple tunes but approached from an odd angle. It's his sounds that get attention but he's quite similar to the misunderstood Philip Glass.

We are privileged to be able to hear it. If some people don't want to follow him into this new territory, that's fine.
