Man I love surfing but I have to surf Galveston and it just sucks. It was nice about five years ago like nootaramus said, but after that it just went to shit. I finally just gave up because it's not really even worth the trouble. Wish I could move somewhere where there are real waves.

there has not been any really good surf in texas in 5 years- its usually brown water and wind chop.

but on occassion, there can be really nice glassy conditions and blue water. its is rare.

whereas, s cal is glassy every morning water is blue and surf is waste to chest high- regularly.

but if you surf in texas, then you have stoke. its harder, harsher, meaner and scarcer. I would tanker surf in the ship channel for anything. no thanks.
