Jason Becker was only 16 when he and marty friedman started cacophony. By age 20 he lost the ability to play the guitar. He was a musical genius who at his time at a young age was considered one of the greatest and to this day still is. He still even makes music today all with the movement of his chin! You cant really compare him to another guitarist really because if given another 10 years i dont think he would be touched.

Alexi is great guitarist but he is quite sloppy. and he doesn't do weird scales & unusual guitar harmonies like Jason&Marty does. there was also many modern power metal bands out there that have higher similarity to Cacophony. for example Mystic Prophecy, Angra, Dream Evil, Iced Earth, Rhapsody, Nightrage, Stratovarious, Nocturnal Rites, Nevermore, Avantasia,.. and Emil Werstler
