It's 450 for the first because he's standing and then he comes back around for the second to do a 360 to be able to land on his stomach. He would have to rotate another 90 degrees, landing on his head (ouch) to make it a 900 degree turn from the original position.

You are thinking of the 450 splash which is 360 degrees in a full circle then landing upon there stomach which is another 90 degrees. A 900 degree splash would be landing upon his own head.
