I would prefer pay to play. because free to play Game have many contents for people who buy something. but in pay to play Game you can enjoy whole contens that developer offer.
pay to play games does guarantee that the developers make money but the free to play games has potential to make double, triple, or even quadruple the amount that pay to play games companies because free to play games items cost real money and a lot more players play those kinds of games. The perfect example is when maplestory first came out it made at least triple the amount that world of Warcraft did because of the amount of players and wanting to look cool and level up in the game.
I prefer buying a game and then playing it for free forever. The developers know that their game has to be of good quality, because else no one is gonna buy the game. That way, us players also know we're getting a good game. Everyone gets the same content, because we all payed for it. Only, there's no monthly subscription fee. I don't like that some games make us pay a fee every month, while we already bought the game. A model like Guild Wars 2 uses, would be a much better one. Buy2Play ^^
@Veggeto1 Difference is with the GW model, as you say, you pay for the content, therefore they sell you the game, but won't give you any content patches as you haven't paid for that content, so they then release several expansions every so often for you to buy for a full price. This is still obviously better than the f2p cash shop model though, but ultimately the same thing as subscription based game really, except that you know what you pay for, at least to some extent.
@RanmaruXd2jsp As long as the game is good, I'm willing to pay for it. But a monthly subscription on top of buying the game and it's expansions just doesn't seem interesting to me. I guess what matters most is that you get good content. Some people r willing to pay for that monthly and some ppl aren't. As long as you believe in what you're paying for, no matter what the plan, it's all good hehe. Happy gaming ^.^
@Veggeto1 Also GW, at least the original, features not only the cost of the game and it's expansions, but a cash shop as well for asthetic purposes.. another similar case is WoW where they go all out to make you buy their game, then pay monthly for it, buy expansions too.. and still feature a cash shop for aesthetic items.. all in one money mill, apart from making you pay for in-game benefits.
i've played both p2p games and f2p games for years and whenever i was playing f2p i always had the same complaints lack of content, many hackers and horrible customers service now in this f2p games i saw people that didn't spend money on the game and was still very strong due to hard work, so i think MMO industry needs to realize there is A LOT of money to be made in f2p so they should make REALLY good games to offer them for free and make money instead of starting as p2p and than going for f2p
I have been playing Free to play MMOs for a really long time now,and i haven't spent a single cent on any of them and i still had a lot of fun with the games.
So i think that Free to play games are much better. You can play them completely for free, never pay for anything and still have a lot of fun. I don't like pay to play, because i think it is not right that you are charged monthly for a game you already payed for when you bought it.
I know they need money to keep the servers up,but still...
the most delightfull thing i have found in your channel is when you share with us your thoughts, opinions and impressions about some game that attracts you. hearing details in-game that strikes you and somewhat not, so thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, Veronica, we really enjoy your videos
F2P is the gaming model of the future, down with P2P. Proof is in the pudding, what was there like 2 p2p games that came out last year compared to 20+ F2P of B2P models, P2P is a dying model thank goodness.
I agree completely, I much prefer a subscription model, especially when the alternative is needing to buy something to be optimum in pvp or pve. In subscription models, everyone has the same opportunity to get stronger, without having to compete with others with disposable income.
Not to mention, subscription models reduce the amount of trolls, little kids, etc that join the game, seeing as you need access to steady income to play.
The first time i ever saw a gay like p2p with a cash shop was DCUO I didnt really look at the cash shop but i bought DCUO the first day it came out, put in all my credit/debit info. to play. Loaded it up and started playing, while i was playing like the first couple seconds i found out it also had a cash shop and just thought to myself, WTF!!! this is a p2p game why is there a cash shop in it? XD needless to say i quite right away and what do u now, know its f2p lol
Spending money on gear is always bad. If a game leaves you no choice but to spend in order to be good, that game is bad and you should stop playing it.
You should play Diablo. It doesn't matter how much you spend, you'll always lose vs. bad geared modders 100% of the time, and that's good because I mod ^.^
Don't waste your money on those shit net games. Even if your character is invincible, no one cares except the handful of people who play it.
Pay to play games is the brainchild of kapitalist leeches, you gain nothing out of it.. while paying for nothing but time to feed your addiction.. it's basicly the same concept as drugs..
well veronica i was complaining about capcom cause i play a variety of different games and fighters happen to be an old favorite. i just think itd be nice if they didnt make a game and then make the same game but with more characters. just make them dlc why push another 40 bucks on loyal customers for something that shouldve been included or atleast made dlc for the same game?
i like mostly p2p maybe cause i have a job so its not that big of a deal. i have used cash shops but hate em 2 thought people go way to wild on those things i wouldn't mind if cash shops had a limit of perchance per month maybe untradeble/unike so no sly stuff lol .Some people don't have the time to get everything they wan out of an mmo cause of rl so for them cash shops helps them ketch up to there friends.its limit thing ,i think to much of a good thing
First of all, everyone is on the same level (no bonus whatsoever *theoretically*), but most importantly people act more mature on P2P games (from the several ones I tried at least).
Perfect World was possibly the worst game i have ever played :( right next to demon souls for ps3. i agree with your p2p verdict, but there are some exceptional "free" games out there like Allods ^^
I mostly prefer free2play and since im a diablo fan its been pretty good so far. this month however i actually started playing kotor and pay, for my first time ever, a monthly subscription. and i guess if you have a job at all times 15$ is not a big deal. but i agree with you totally, if they added a cash shop then id be tempted to stop playing. however if the cash shop did not really make other players who pay for these items op then i wouldnt mind so much. but if it did make them op, thats it
Pay to play all the way. You get what you paid for. Free to play games are a joke. It's a good idea but the games are always run by total idiots who have no idea what they are doing. Support is always bad if you need help and they are often unfinished projects that need a lot of work. There really aren't any good free to play games at all. Guild wars was ok back in it's day and I may change my mind after GW2 comes out. But in the end Pay 2 play will always be the gamers choice. Nuff said.
I agree with poster below being it depends on the game, I've played DC Universe when it was P2P and then when its F2P nothings really changed you just hafe to pay for new content. APB was a terrible F2P game. SWTOR and WoW are awesome examples of P2P so it all depends on personal preference.
funny thing is, eve online just tried doing the cash for content with the incarna, and the result was an in-game protest where players went to the game's largest trading hub and crashed the solar system's server for a week and 5,000 subscribers rage quit which lost most of it's veteran players, my advise to any future coming mmos, do not get greedy and have cash for content stores if you want to be live
i like p2p, it not only helps prevents ppl from affording to play 4 other mmos to where you may or may not see guild members months at a time, but the consistent income generated for the gaming corp helps maintain gaming quality throwing money at gaming upgrades like new graphical mechanics and such, eve online has a cool setting where you pay $15 per month, but every expansion is free the upgrades 1-2 times a year but has a unique feature where the elite players can play for free
One of my favourite things about Minecraft is that they always have new updates and the game could only get better, yet you only have to pay a single fee.
A F2P game I'm loving at the moment is Team Fortress 2. Sure, it costs money to get nice items but the game's fun by default. In a game like TF2 I'm not too bothered with the aesthetics anyway :3
I agree with you on all points here Veronica, nice vid. I'm keen for GW2 as it will be somewhat of a hybrid business model and will be my first foray into F2P(ish) gaming.
I think League of Legends has the best F2P model out there, not perfect (everyone will like cheaper champs obviously), but I think is fair in the sense that you can play without paying a dime and still be able to wreck people no matter how much money the have spent. Paying real money gives you basically 2 things: your champions look different, you have more available champions; but none of them will make you a better player.
By users endgame b2p is really inconsistent has it good and bad games. F2P lower content lots of jibberish and dumb crap lower levels. If gold can be bought end game items prices are really inflated. But players endgame take more serious cause if you dont finish raid in time they have to buy another $5 scroll ect. p2p is decent but lacks one thing serious players 1 player thinks $15 a month makes him deserving of ruining other peoples good times. To ninja pull not contribute ect.
Nth is worse than Blizzard's milking strategy you pay 15$/month and there's an item shop for things like mounts and non-combat pets it's not enough they charge u for monthly fee + Expansion price every 2 years, but if u were a collector ur doomed to pay 25$ for a pet/mount just to brag about >.> and as for me I never liked F2P because it's basically a B2Win! I'm looking forward for Gw and Gw2 model which is really a win to win situation and u won't have to spend 500$ on item shops O_O
I like the business model ArenaNet is using with GW and GW2 and that's B2P (buy to play). You only buy the box and you get the whole game without subscription. Regular updates are free as well and the cash shop sells only vanity items like costumes or extra character slots (no pay to win items so everyone is on equal footing). So I think this is the most fair model and everybody wins.
I really like League of Legends business model. You play for free and the more you play the more IP (Influense points) you get. You can buy new champions, runes, rune pages etc with IP.
The only thing you can't buy with IP is skins. Then you have too put real money in that converts into Riot Points.
You´re even more beautiful everytime I see you in a new video. Anyways, I don´t play fee games at all, I don´t see the sense in it. Free to play forever! But again, I don´t spend a lot on game extras. First, cause I don´t find it reasonable to do so, just for a virtual thing, but I did spend a little. On the other hand, I don´t see it very fair that people with money should have access to better weapons and armour. and others have to do with basic packs. But yes, basically gamers are exploited.
playing the F2P game World of Tanks, and actualy i am one of the best 5% and get the ingame currency (gold) by playing Clan Wars and actualy i gain money every month by playing ESL... so F2P ftw
I was addicted too World of Warcraft. but after having maxed out my charcaters and nothing else to look forward to. I realized I have wasted alot of my life on working on my charcaters that I will eventualy loose. Games won't exist forever and all that play time will be gone forever.
I wish I spent that time learning how to program! Don't get me wrong I did enjoy that time play WOW. but yea... hopefully you get the idea!
I like games where you can pay to not have to grind all day if you want to play at a competitive level, and by that i don't mean pay to win. When you have a full time job, it can be really hard to stay at the same gear level as people who can play all day if they want.
For me it's not a problem paying +60$ pr month for a game, as long as you can play 10 or less hours a week and still be at a fun/competitive level.
F2P is ok if it doesn't unblance the game. P2P is different from country to country. For example, WoW in NA and some other countries. You have to buy the game and all the expansions and pay for sub. Which by the way it's really bad. All P2P games in Korea is just sub. Don't have to buy the games and all the expansions that come out are all part of the sub. Which is ok IMO. To though I'm gonna have to agree with mishaal300 B2P is the best choice.
P2p is better, everybody pays the same amount, and everybody has access to the same experience, it's all up to you to build a good character with what you're given. In f2p you end up actually paying so much more to just be able to compete with people willing to spend money to get an advantage, it snowballs into something disgusting where the rich rules.
If you want a world where the rich rules everything, why bother playing a game, you got the real world right there for you xD
@NewbVeronica Well if it's just cosmetic stuff, I don't mind, I mean if people are willing to pay just to get a special mount for example (like in wow xD) then it's their problem, it doesn't affect the overall gameplay.
The problem is when you have to pay just to get basic features that affect your core gameplay like in the game you mentioned where you have to pay real money just to be able to keep your items when you die, which is total BS.
@risanwo Dude, you just said it. Exactly my thoughts on the matter :)
Also, a lot of the F2P game servers lag a lot. At least that is what I found on my quest to find a decent F2P game. I can hardly find more to try out. One of the few good ones I found was Allods Online, but this game is so incredibly expensive I would never recommend it.
Pay to play? Subscriptions?! Do yourself a favour and buy yourself a PS3 (XBOX 360 doesn't count because of the internet subscription) then buy Dark Souls for $30 and you will have countless hrs so make your character look good, DS graphics shits all over these mmo games with far better game play and pvp. Don't get ripped off.
dc universe online is a good f2p game. u can pay a subscription to have all the stuff but even f2p people have an even chance to beat people that are legendary subscribers. they even have a cash shop in it too
I really like the way it's been done with GW. You pay for the game and don't have any subscription fees. That's the way it should be. I get it that you're paying for the extra content and updates that comes along the way. But you might end up paying for having your class nerfed. That seems like a bad deal to me.
To me, all the MMO games (which is basically what we are talking about here) are a ripoff. Either way you get a grinding game where you eventually pay money again and again to them, or the very least, if you manage to not pay for anything, have one grind mission after the other. I don't know how people tolerate/like them, but if they do then that's their...issue.
Black Prophecy is F2P but most items in the shop are items that allow you to lvl up faster for a limited time or ignore the negative affects of dying for a limited time. Nothing really permanent, and mostly for the people that are impatient. There are a few aesthetic items but nothing too major. I like it because it's f2p and everything is fair, even to those that don't use the shop; like myself.
p2p is bad for business, because too many people wont even try the game when they have to pay - well they have to pay in f2p as well, but too many dumb people dont register that in their brains.
you can only sell p2p game if it already has a huge following - like Blizzard had because of their offline games.
Guildwars2 for example will be free to play (after buying the game itself), the cash shop will be for character slots, changing good armor stats to old armor, and whatnot. You can still get all the pretty armor in-game :-)
They will get their money back by selling expansions
F2P like Spiral Knights or Team Fortress 2 end up getting more money out of selling hats or weapons etc/ So there is NO F2P games. You pay for the game from day one, or you pay for in-game stuff later on!!! And all I do now is masturbate cos Veronica is such a sexy girl. =)
I play many free to play game from battlefield, APB Reloaded, and nfs world, even some glu mobile game on android . Its HORRIBLY unbalanced or just impossible to beat ppl who own overpowered items. Anyway free to play, pay to win...
@JediNg135 i am just as big a pervert as anyone else. also i like thighs so its okay if cleavage is covered but need the thighs showing! or stocking but not pants D: !!
I really prefer p2p games because people have the same chances of being strong in the game, or reaching the max level and that kind of stuff, unlike f2p games where they have xp scrolls, or the memos from pwi kill it imo.
I'm somewhere in the middle. I like Pay to Play games like WoW, and I was planning on trying SWTOR when it came out (PC issues ftl). But having Free to Play on the side is great too, just to have something different. I'm okay with the cash shop idea, though the double dipping games (World of Warcrack I'm looking at YOU!! BAD BLIZZARD BAAAD!!! Though I did buy a Pandaren Monk when it was first added along with donation to charity) are disgusting. I'd have more to say but there's never enough room
You pay 50 - 60 Dollars on average for the game then you have to drop another 15 dollars or more on average just to play it. That sounds like a rip off to me.
Your Perfect World experience equals my Fifa 12 ultimate Team experience...however in Fifa, even if you have awesome players it doesnt mean some guy who's sick at Fifa can't wreck you with a decent team...
If I think about it too much, I'll end up concluding that both Free to Play and Pay to Play suck xD
Nah, not really, but as long as the game is fun to play and balanced it doesn't metter much if it has shop or subscription.
Like, a Monster Hunter like game (what I am expecting TERA will be), where equipment and buffs do play a role, but what counts is your skill, so even with cash stuff the game won't be ruined.
Now, I agree, both subscription and cash exclusive items is a dirty ripoff xD
Sorry but I have to disagree on Vindictus, they have those surveys/offers/videos to earn free NX, which is how I got all of my cash crap. There are alot of F2P games with these surveys/offers/videos aswell so I don't see any reason why a person would need to pay with real money.
My favorite type of games are B2P buy to play. One time fee like let's say Guild Wars or HoN and everything else is set. Anyway in regards to F2P, I believe the most non game-breaking online game I ever tried would be League of Legends. My friend didn't spent a dime in there and has the same amount of champs I have. I chose to buy some cash purely because I like the game and wanted to support it
I used to play guild wars and promised to stop when I finished my FoW armour which took me like 6 months. I stopped and it was a hard thing because I put a lot of time into it. On the other hand, a simular game is world of warcraft, its hard for people to stop because they spent a lot of money on their account. P.S your very pretty :3
P2P + cash shop is the worst. I was thinking about trying Aion again until I learned about NCSoft selling item enchantments in cash shops.
It really doesn't work to have grinds and pay-to-pwn in competitive games. The whole MMO model is broken imo. I'm annoyed that they're carrying it over into FPS games now too. CoD, Battlefield, Tribes, Brink, Killingfloor, etc... you have to level up weapons in all those games. Enough is enough.
@PoweredByMagnets i too played aion on release w/o the cash shop. i liked that game a lot, unlike many others. (tanky healer!! i want to die from love *_* )
when i heard aion went cash shop i was disgusted :(
@NewbVeronica They screwed up endgame bad. Sorcs and glads could 1-shot people and godstones did 4k damage. The AP system discouraged PvP. The faction system made landslide victories for one side on every server.
The main reason I quit though, was because I had a 300 ping to the east coast for no explicable reason and it made assassin unplayable without battleping. The "target out of range" didn't help either. But the cash shop was the last straw for me returning.
@PoweredByMagnets wow, for me the only thing that would own me back in the day was a cash shopped up werebeast. those tanky animals, im sure they changed the name of them now though. anyway ya, cant play pw again >_<
wow...you just looking at your face tells me that you really into mmo games :D
But I prefer Free To Play games, but only thoose kinds which you don't need to buy premium or things like that to be able to be a good player. That's why I play World Of Tanks ^^
And about buying things in the game, I think it's only good if it's useful, but at least you have more money to be able to spend in USA...but no offense, I just say that there you have better chance to be able to play better.
Pay to win guys are pathetic, quakelive what a waste...wonder if they still have players going in to get owned on by NOOBs that just paid to win? the best part is in QL, the arogance of these guys....they say ur just bad, u need to play more, you are too slow....I am pretty pro, been playing fps since 1998, I know how to move and I know what a skilled player looks like compared to an assisted fake paying player...greed ruins everything. The corporate mindset has no honor.
I have felt the same way. I usually play a free to play game until I have to pay to enhance the game and then I move on to another game. When I played perfect world I never felt bad about spending 15 bucks a month on cash shop items. But yeah you could spend major money just on a mount. I think I prefer the pay to play too but sometimes I can't afford it. Also there really aren't that many good pay to play games out there anymore.
I've banned myself from going near a MMO, I might as well already be playing one since I watch anime, read manga and play games all the time but I have to have time for reality.
@NewbVeronica Got to eat, sleep, go to work, got to pay bills instead of buying a xbox gold account or BF3, (for me) watch attractive girls walk past me into the arms of some better looking guy, makes me hate living near a mall.
Veronica, as a finance manager for a Korean MMO company, I assure you the risk of running MMOs in the US is very high due to the US regulations enforcing foreign companies to form a proper tax paying business entity here, which leads to hiring American workers and paying associated benefits, rent, server/bandwidth fee, the list goes on. Paypal and other paygates also take on their % and I haven't even mentioned the initial start up cost or the game development cost which can be in the milliions.
have you played Lord of the Rings? it has both a cash shop and a monthly fee option. now if your a pay to play customer then all the game is open to you and there is no need for you to use the cash shop at all. i think thats really cool. while free players like myself can buy the items we want from the shop.
@towrood i skipped LotR but played a game sorta similar in fee module called "requiem bloodymare" i believe. so you have a choice - pay monthly for all perks and zones, or pay 1 time fee for zones. it had some game breaking things in their item shop besides that choice module, but i only played it for a little so i never felt it. the item shop item was making your eq better with enchant stone or something ^^
I think the Guild Wars 2 Cash Shop will be amazing. The Developers don't have to charge a monthly fee because of the Cash shop, but they also don't have to rely solely on people who buy from the cash shop because they also sell the game =). I mean I have absolutely 0 regrets buying an expansion once of twice a year. But I do have a problem with paying $15 a month. $180 a year is just way too much money to pay for a game that you also have to buy expansions for. Compared to other $60 1 time games
Well I think the way console games do it is the best. It's free to play, but ever month or so they release brand new content, which you can choose to buy or not. If you buy the content, you simply have more maps, weapons, etc. to play with; but if you choose not buy it, your gameplay won't change or suffer at all. I would never play a "pay to win" type game like you mentioned. I also would never play a game where the "coolest" items are 'bought' instead of 'earned'.
What about Guild Wars 2 :D no Pay to Win but they still have cash shop for other items that don't make you more powerful than anybody else and that's 1 of the many reasons i love Guild Wars 2 :D
I like free to play games but I spent $100 on APB in my first month of playing and yes it's a lot but if I get bored of it I can go play another MMO or marathon some anime and not have to worry about a $15 a month fee. I also look at what I'm buying and compare it to my hourly wage so if I think an item is worth 2 hours that I worked and I'll use this item for more than 2 hours I look at it as a profit in terms of fun.
I prefer P2P over F2P, because generally all F2P = P2W. The subscription model really doesn't mean anything to me though. If there was a fantastic F2P game, I'd still play it.
I think monthly subsribtion based games like wow and swtor are fine. Since I then pay for as mutch entertainment as I want in that month. I would never spend money on just digital items thou. Do you play SWTOR? I'd love to hear you talk bout it / see you play with commentary! =D
Free to play is the future of MMO. Pay to games are already dying and converting to free to play like Champions Online, DC Universe, Everquest 2, Age of Conan, Lord of the Rings etc. just to survive. I respect your opinion of which you prefer though but you can still enjoy playing a free to play mmo without using real money, you just need to learn how to farm loots and buying and selling to get the item you want :)
So... This is a subject that will be discussed forever and ever. But personally I prefer P2P.
Why?
It is generally better. Better story, more fluent gameplay, easier to understand, better support etc etc.
However, the non-payment factor of the F2P games are nice as well, but more than one time have they lacked substantially in content and story wise to the point were i simply just can't play it.
And the cash shops... Ooh the cash shops... P2Win does not sit right with me..
Realistically, nothing is free but I never bother with pay to play. In free to play, it's not like you really need the shop items. You can get by without them. With them, just makes the game a little easier. In any case, it's a one time fee for certain items vs monthly fees that you need to keep paying for you to keep playing. Get my drift? btw, you should try Forsaken World which from the same company as Perfect World.
NewbVeronica What do you think about Atlantica online ... (a nexon game) In which you can PAY for items in the game... but at the same time actually get them legit (as legit goes) in game? with the Currency Given in whist game
@XxWarAndBloodxX i played it when it was released, so nexon wasn't the publisher i believe. Ehh i mean costumes are cash only, and they give pretty decent stats. My guild leader would always win server pvp, (forgot the event name) but when he went to a trouny he was beaten in the first round. All the money he poured into his char made him damn OP, but without it he was useless lol. his name is Alanor, you can find recordings of his games on utube too
This has been flagged as spam show
I would prefer pay to play. because free to play Game have many contents for people who buy something. but in pay to play Game you can enjoy whole contens that developer offer.

Vindictus is so nice, only level 10 or something but i don´t worry about my pyamas shining through or anything.
if i realy need to pay to enjoy the game i´m gone :) hehe
it`s super for a f2p

pay to play games does guarantee that the developers make money but the free to play games has potential to make double, triple, or even quadruple the amount that pay to play games companies because free to play games items cost real money and a lot more players play those kinds of games. The perfect example is when maplestory first came out it made at least triple the amount that world of Warcraft did because of the amount of players and wanting to look cool and level up in the game.

You should stop playing MMORPG and rather go conquer the world with your beautiful blue eyes. just giving a hint :)

I know they need money to keep the servers up,but still...

Spending money on gear is always bad. If a game leaves you no choice but to spend in order to be good, that game is bad and you should stop playing it.
ProxySpam 1 month ago
You should play Diablo. It doesn't matter how much you spend, you'll always lose vs. bad geared modders 100% of the time, and that's good because I mod ^.^
Don't waste your money on those shit net games. Even if your character is invincible, no one cares except the handful of people who play it.

@NewbVeronica As far as I'm concerned, P2P > F2P.

DiamondChrome42 1 month ago
i like p2p, it not only helps prevents ppl from affording to play 4 other mmos to where you may or may not see guild members months at a time, but the consistent income generated for the gaming corp helps maintain gaming quality throwing money at gaming upgrades like new graphical mechanics and such, eve online has a cool setting where you pay $15 per month, but every expansion is free the upgrades 1-2 times a year but has a unique feature where the elite players can play for free

I think League of Legends has the best F2P model out there, not perfect (everyone will like cheaper champs obviously), but I think is fair in the sense that you can play without paying a dime and still be able to wreck people no matter how much money the have spent. Paying real money gives you basically 2 things: your champions look different, you have more available champions; but none of them will make you a better player.
josephfley 1 month ago 3

Abed092 1 month ago in playlist Gaming Chat
I like the business model ArenaNet is using with GW and GW2 and that's B2P (buy to play). You only buy the box and you get the whole game without subscription. Regular updates are free as well and the cash shop sells only vanity items like costumes or extra character slots (no pay to win items so everyone is on equal footing). So I think this is the most fair model and everybody wins.
DivineOnFire 1 month ago

LordDexington 1 month ago
F2P is ok if it doesn't unblance the game. P2P is different from country to country. For example, WoW in NA and some other countries. You have to buy the game and all the expansions and pay for sub. Which by the way it's really bad. All P2P games in Korea is just sub. Don't have to buy the games and all the expansions that come out are all part of the sub. Which is ok IMO. To though I'm gonna have to agree with mishaal300 B2P is the best choice.
Kam1 1 month ago in playlist Gaming Chat
P2p is better, everybody pays the same amount, and everybody has access to the same experience, it's all up to you to build a good character with what you're given. In f2p you end up actually paying so much more to just be able to compete with people willing to spend money to get an advantage, it snowballs into something disgusting where the rich rules.
If you want a world where the rich rules everything, why bother playing a game, you got the real world right there for you xD

@risanwo yup, and i dont understand why people would want a game where you just throw money at a virtual object O_O
NewbVeronica 1 month ago
@NewbVeronica Well if it's just cosmetic stuff, I don't mind, I mean if people are willing to pay just to get a special mount for example (like in wow xD) then it's their problem, it doesn't affect the overall gameplay.
The problem is when you have to pay just to get basic features that affect your core gameplay like in the game you mentioned where you have to pay real money just to be able to keep your items when you die, which is total BS.

I really like the way it's been done with GW. You pay for the game and don't have any subscription fees. That's the way it should be.

I like it because it's f2p and everything is fair, even to those that don't use the shop; like myself.

you can only sell p2p game if it already has a huge following - like Blizzard had because of their offline games.

Depends on the game.
Guildwars2 for example will be free to play (after buying the game itself), the cash shop will be for character slots, changing good armor stats to old armor, and whatnot. You can still get all the pretty armor in-game :-)

P2P + cash shop is the worst. I was thinking about trying Aion again until I learned about NCSoft selling item enchantments in cash shops.
It really doesn't work to have grinds and pay-to-pwn in competitive games. The whole MMO model is broken imo. I'm annoyed that they're carrying it over into FPS games now too. CoD, Battlefield, Tribes, Brink, Killingfloor, etc... you have to level up weapons in all those games. Enough is enough.

XxWarAndBloodxX 1 month ago
@XxWarAndBloodxX i played it when it was released, so nexon wasn't the publisher i believe. Ehh i mean costumes are cash only, and they give pretty decent stats. My guild leader would always win server pvp, (forgot the event name) but when he went to a trouny he was beaten in the first round. All the money he poured into his char made him damn OP, but without it he was useless lol. his name is Alanor, you can find recordings of his games on utube too
