This product is called BumpTop, now discontinued gui shell for windows and mac. It was made by a Canadian startup company by the same name around 2009. The company as been bought by Google in 2010. Reportedly parts of it has found its way into android honeycomb.

I liked the 'product'? presentation, because it's a very original operating GUI. Though I doubt it would actually boast my productivity. So far it seems like an original and fun gimmick. I'd love to see further development on this GUI.

Yeah I don't use the desktop for anything but my wallpaper. I have a cool little bar across the top of my screen it's called my dock, I put programs in it and click them. I don't need to pile or manipulate or dragon cross or anything like that. Thanks for the idea though.

I have both Windows and Linux, and I use Linux for things like browsing the web and using office, and Windows games that weren't designed for Linux. Give it a try easy to use, faster and safer than Windows, but don't expect to run .exe files because they won't run as they are for a different OS, it's like trying to play PS3 format games on a Wii.

Before saying something correct, documentate yourself, or then you will maybe say something wrong. Also, Wine can run many games, but not all of them for sure because they need to do a part of the job to remove bugs in their implementations. Also, Wine Is Not An Emulator.

This is more like the inside of Windows. When you save a file or open a file, it is all put here. This "operating system" is like the unforseen framework behind Windows combined with the eye-candy of a Mac.

This is a good tool for organizing documents besides text if you are willing to risk the bytes this can take up. However this is far from being called an operating system.

Looks like it would be massively helpful on a tablet, if you threw in some kind of helpful metadata aside from the file type (I'm thinking file names).
