ron paul did say that the federal government should have no say on gay marriage, and that is a religious or personal issue.

He is a pretty strict constitutionalist, but i think someone needs to explain evolution to him.

Tabash has a keen insight for Christian fundamentalism (reaction to losing the Civil War).

I believe much of the christian political right formed as a reaction to Brown vs Board of Ed in a similar way. Racial separatists ran into religious schools where fundamentalist conservatism grew.

US problem is not intellectualism, it's poor education overall (insufficient to understand scientific principles).
