Just look up the track list for the movie and it Says written and preformed by Travis Meeks. I used to have all 3 albums of DOTN. They got stolen out of my car. I wish i still had them. I put DOTN up there with LED ZEPPLIN & THE DOORS for there unique style of music.
Not necessarily split up. More like Travis owns the rights to DOTN. DOTN is Meeks. So DOTN will be around until he decides to ultimately give it up. People like Travis Meeks are one in a million. Awesome talent. Unforgettable music. Pure and true nature music. His lyrics hit hard and right at home for me.
I personally think it would be fantastic if, since the original members have now left Tantric, the original lineup of DOTN got together and brought one of the best bands of the 90s back into a suffering world of rock music.

@eagan22mi DOTN is still touring, it's only travis and 2 supporting musicians, though. still a great show. i saw them in rochester december 4,2009. loved it.
The 3 members of this band that are NOT the lead singer, left and grouped up with Hugo Ferriera to form the Band Tantric. Travis Meeks fell to addiction with Crystal meth and still is not in the music scene very much if at all anymore. Its sad because Days of the New... is SO much better than Tantric in my oppinion...
Travis Performs about 3+ days per week around the country. I saw him at the Hard Rock in Vegas just a few months ago. That counts as being "in the scene" in my opinion.

12 years have passed since I first listened to Travis Meeks on the "Touch, Peel and Stand" video. From the very first moment, Days of the New became my favourite band ever, from any genre. Obsessive-compulsive as I am, I'm constantly discovering new music, new composers, bands and genres; but of all the artists I have ever listened to, my heart will always remain with DOTN.
Theirs a lot to say about this guy . Hes a very tortured person and its apparent in his songs. The sheer amount of musical talent is in fact rather staggering. His arrangements hold up with just an acoustic guitar, and his ability to play bass and melody notes at once is actually quite simple but complicated to hold together and even more difficult to write. Their is alot of music like this in Ky that will never get heard because of the pit of drugs and despair so many people are stuck in.
i am not sure the exsact date, as who really knows... but it was released in 1998 on the "Half Baked" soundtrack.... has a feel of the orange album.. but i can not say for sure..
Oh I can't wait for Purple / IV ...DOTN gets better and better. Thanks to travis for such great music. PLEASE someone sign these guys and give them lots of money so a big nationwide tour can ensue and I'll be able too see my hero Maestro Meeks.
i recently seen the "travis meeks intervention episode". my heart dropped when i saw all his face twitches and the hospital scare. when i saw him (front row) i did not notice any twitching and blinking. he was smoking alot and steadily sipping beer. much better than meth, what ever it takes. hopefully he is clean now and are getting back on track. if he had kept going he would have been like all the rest: Hendrix, Elvis, A.I.Chains, Cobain, MJ... his abilities n vision r like MJ's dancing.
just saw them last night, talked to the drummer, and by the way he said "we have it done we just have to make it".... i would be surprised if it were out in a year from now. he didnt say what was holding them up. they played 1 song from purple, i didn't like it, but i wouldn't hesitate to buy the cd though. awesome show, they are very good live. very full sounding for being 3 people. dont pass them up if you have the chance.
They are having trouble getting signed and the cash to make an album. It's incredibly expensive. Hopefully Travis doesn't relapse before they are able to get back on track with a new label. Some of the new stuff I've heard is pretty good. I miss his voice from these days though, I guess smoking meth'll do that....

Dude, sadly I think they broke up a while back. Spawn off / Spin off Band was formed called Tantric. Very good group as well... but I miss the DOTN sound. :( I could be wrong, just working from memory on this one ;)

@eagan22mi DOTN is still touring, it's only travis and 2 supporting musicians, though. still a great show. i saw them in rochester december 4,2009. loved it.

The 3 members of this band that are NOT the lead singer, left and grouped up with Hugo Ferriera to form the Band Tantric. Travis Meeks fell to addiction with Crystal meth and still is not in the music scene very much if at all anymore. Its sad because Days of the New... is SO much better than Tantric in my oppinion...

Travis Performs about 3+ days per week around the country. I saw him at the Hard Rock in Vegas just a few months ago. That counts as being "in the scene" in my opinion.

im 34 and i agreed with dawndebris1979 when i first listen to touch peel stand blew my head off, im a grunge freak too from the times of mother love bone, soundgarden pearl jam, screeming trees, nirvana and alice in chains, the only problem is to find the cds of days of the new i lived in ecuador and its very damnn difficult to find these jewels of music

12 years have passed since I first listened to Travis Meeks on the "Touch, Peel and Stand" video. From the very first moment, Days of the New became my favourite band ever, from any genre. Obsessive-compulsive as I am, I'm constantly discovering new music, new composers, bands and genres; but of all the artists I have ever listened to, my heart will always remain with DOTN.

Theirs a lot to say about this guy . Hes a very tortured person and its apparent in his songs. The sheer amount of musical talent is in fact rather staggering. His arrangements hold up with just an acoustic guitar, and his ability to play bass and melody notes at once is actually quite simple but complicated to hold together and even more difficult to write. Their is alot of music like this in Ky that will never get heard because of the pit of drugs and despair so many people are stuck in.

i am not sure the exsact date, as who really knows... but it was released in 1998 on the "Half Baked" soundtrack.... has a feel of the orange album.. but i can not say for sure..

i recently seen the "travis meeks intervention episode". my heart dropped when i saw all his face twitches and the hospital scare. when i saw him (front row) i did not notice any twitching and blinking. he was smoking alot and steadily sipping beer. much better than meth, what ever it takes. hopefully he is clean now and are getting back on track. if he had kept going he would have been like all the rest: Hendrix, Elvis, A.I.Chains, Cobain, MJ... his abilities n vision r like MJ's dancing.

just saw them last night, talked to the drummer, and by the way he said "we have it done we just have to make it".... i would be surprised if it were out in a year from now. he didnt say what was holding them up. they played 1 song from purple, i didn't like it, but i wouldn't hesitate to buy the cd though. awesome show, they are very good live. very full sounding for being 3 people. dont pass them up if you have the chance.

They are having trouble getting signed and the cash to make an album. It's incredibly expensive. Hopefully Travis doesn't relapse before they are able to get back on track with a new label. Some of the new stuff I've heard is pretty good. I miss his voice from these days though, I guess smoking meth'll do that....
