This reminds me a lot of how the judges treated Haley Reinhart this season.

They would give contestants with so-so performances good reviews, but Katharine and Haley both took on BIG, challenging, songs and were criticized.

In my opinion, I thought Haley and Katarine should've won their corresponding seasons. They took on the biggest challenges, had the best voices, and had "Idol moments" unlike their peers.

Keeping it real. Not only was Katherine really good with this song. I believe the real issue is people are so used to this song performed by a Black woman, Katherine got prejudged. Atleast the next night, all three judges realized they were wrong. IMO, Katherin was amazing and sang this better than any other contestant that has. Katherine wasn't cliche' as they were.
