Hmm i really would love tnking as Consular. Also love dual sabers, but the stealth and "caster tanking" is not for me? Should i still pick it? I would paly as melee dps and tank.

@bloodi01 Shadow tanks are very viable, but do take a bit more thought. They also don't really feel at all like a caster tank. You're very up close and personal with the mobs. Shadow DPS on the other hand has play very similar to that of a rouge from WoW. Stealth, positional requirements. Fast regen resource that your burn through quickly, etc.

2 questions: Never played an mmorpg, i catch on quick, but is the consolar and its classes that difficult to learn, use and win with? Im only ever going to play one character through but if you have to be an elite player to be awesome with consolars as opposed to die because you suck as them I will go knight. Second question as the sage is that STUPID crown thing a requirement to wear. Cuz if so. Fuck the sage.

It bugs me that this video doesn't even touch on Shadow tanking. And the in and out of stealth with one mob? Doesn't work that way. Well, works once. Then you can't do it again for 2 mins or so. Just not reflective of the gameplay.

Im a level 25 sage and i still dont even have the first set of armor they show. Maybe its becuase i haevnt been to alderan but i have been doing lots of heroic quests and that sort of stuff and i got some sage robes but i dont think it is the ones they show in this video. Does anyone know how to get the first sage robes featured in this video or even the last one they showed. so far i have been to tatooine,nar shadda, and the starter planets like Taris coruscant and Thyon.

The graphics are cartoonish b/c of system requirements. The lower they can make the requirements, the more people can play making a large player base. BW and EA definitely have the resources to make a higher grade of graphics engine but why? From the screenshots of people modding the code for high graphics and forcing AA this game looks 10x better. Besides this is very old build before they added new textures.

I admit it uses many basic WoW features but it's because WoW has become a standard for accessible MMOs. Why reinvent the wheel when the main goal of SWTOR is to immerse players in the Star Wars universe using BioWare style story telling.

I'm actually glad BioWare made it like other MMO's, with a few major and minor differences. Keep in mind people that this is their first MMO ever. If they tried to reinvent the wheel it would've sucked because they wouldnt've known what they were doing. The storytelling, however, is an excellent change from other mmo's. And i'm not even going to touch on the graphics with a 10 foot pole. Its a f**king mmo, the graphics need to be like this so that everyone's computers can run it.

@theprophet113 The graphics are like this becus they will never look old. They're cartoonish on purpose. As an MMO its BioWares intention to keep this going for years to come, 5.. 10... maybe more. Any game that attempts to get graphics as realistic as possible are all games of a series. Cus within a year the best looking games will look sooo much better than the best looking games did 1 year ago. An MMO with nice graphics today, would look silly in only a few years, while this style doesnt

The thing she puts on her back is not a lightsaber but more of a "cattle prod" ( training sword give to you for practice). When you get your lightsaber it gets put on the belt.

Also the action here takes place 3000 years before darth vaders and skywalkers so anything is free to the imagination i guess - hence new powers.

If you tried out the beta and turned all graphics up as high as you could and have a newer pc,you would see a lot of bright colors,shading and gloss on tiles and water effects. I have a few video's on youtube of the beta I tested last week ,using the Sith Warrior,Sith Inquisitor and a Jedi Knight.

I'm going to try to be completely neutral. The game is NOT great.The main problem is the boring combat. It's a bit more fun playing as a jedi/sith knight/inquisitor than the shooting classes because there are more DIFFERENT effects. The shooting classes have few non-blaster skills and those differ only in the stance. The graphics are not impressive aswell. It looks like WoW, which is old now. Bottomline is, it's not anything special. In some areas it can be borderline free2play aspects.

This game is great, the classes are so different there are no similarities between the classes at all besides their Sith counterpart even then still different, An amazingly well done game I tested on the beta myself and found only a few small minor bugs in it which is to be expected in any MMO.

playing a SW game with lightsaber means u need skills to dodge parry and block so u dont get sliced in pieces. SWToR lightsaber fights = spam dmg, no lightsaber clashes. same story for blasters..this game makes no sense

@UltorG classes are just a simplified vertion of how we all are better at different things in real life, i don't get why some people hate them in RPGs. besides the class system in ToR is realy adaptable with specialisations & multiple skill trees in each spec you can adapt the classes into how you want to play, Personaly I like the trinaty system when its done right, makes you feel important in a group as you have a job to do & your depended on as must you depend on the rest of the group.
